How much space in between plants?

i am getting ready to start flowering my next round of crops and i am a little unsure of how far apart the plants need to be in order for them all to receive enough light without crowding them? i am currently using a ebb & flow style hydro table that will hold 10 plants if they're all crammed in there. any help or suggestions?

i have a rubber made bin with 4 holes cut in it there about 1 foot apart an now into flowering there way to close.. i think early on you can get away with ten crammed but for flowering id give about 18" in a radius from the base of the stem. thats what imma do next time.

I have a 2'x2'x7" ebb and flow tray and i put 8 plants in it to flower under a 400w HPS. My Homebox is 3'x3'x6'. I keep them fairly short for a SOG grow.

damn 8 plants in a 2x2 area?! That's tight! By tight I mean Awesome, how do they do?? I'm at a loss to use 2 gal pots or 3 gal pots, 2 gal is 8" - 3 gal is 10.5" round... I have a 5x5 space to work with sooo ahh duno how far to space either... Ah the Q's of life...

the 18" radius from the base of the plant sounds like a good idea but it just seems like there'd be lots of wasted space. i guess i'll just have to play around with it and see what i can manage to squeeze into my space. thanks for the replies everyone!

it all depends on how big you let them veg. When i have too many crowding, ill trim the fan leaves so its nothing but bud instead of taking them out. Typically you should give each plant about one foot by one foot, if you flower them under 12 inches. it also depends on how bushy you grow them. Sometimes ill grow a monster for fun that will take up a good four feet by four feet.

i grew 6 plants in my 2ft x 4 ft 8 ft high closet with a 400 w mh/hps and got over 7 oz's. and they were hellof cramed into thier 3 gallon pots. but i got a great yeild and can say my first grow was a total success.

i think that im not getting the results i want due to the container size. my hydro tables only hold 5 gallons in the res. so i've been using just the 1 gallon size containers. do you think if i start using the 3 gal. containers i will get a noticable difference at harvest time? has anyone with an ebb and flow table ever just filled the top with clay pebbles and planted the plants right into the pebbles without any containers? would this allow for more root development by not using the containers?

That is the kind of set up i have. Just plant your rock-wool into the bed of hydrotons in your tray. Check out "The Green Man how to grow green parts 1-9" YouTube - I GROW CHRONIC - PART 8 (legendado)
