Holy crap... a BUNCH, LOL. You can probably find that online somewhere. I just know that my 400w makes my meter spin like crazy; a 1,000w would probably sling the paint off the spinner thingy.

There's something not right about BigBudBalls Elec. Calc.
If your paying .12 per K/H and you have your lights on 12 hours a day, that's $1.44/day times 30 days is $43.20.
He's got $36 listed.

another question about power....

Would it be safe to run 1000w hps in an older house , that uses fuses and not a breaker box?? I don't want to burn the house down :bigjoint:
thanks for posting guys you've been a big help so far.

you may want to make sure that you dont have anything else running on that line. should be ok its less then running a base board heater

The actual fuse box will let you know immediately if you have enough juice. I'm in the same boat, minus the fuses. Ancient house . . . about 6 outlets in a three bedroom, two-story wooden dump. I figure I may have to buy a heavy-duty extension cord and run a separate line up to the grow rooms?
A regular extension cord would be risky, IMO.

well you might want to change out your fuses to make sure you are starting with that working for sure. dying in a fire would ruin your whole day

I dunno. Currently its at .10 a kW, 1000W on for 12 hours and all is correct. $36 a month.
500W $18 a month

Tried it a few different ways and it all was right.

(I think someone did enter the kW cost.)

better make sure the fuses are new then look to other stuff but start at the source first. no idea if surge will protect anything, i think it works in the opposite direction
