square pots are better for small spaces... fits better... :)

go for square pots, and they have more volume...

square pots eh..well if they have em at the home hardware close to my place ill get one. but yeah thatd make sense to maximize the space in a rectangular closet

and im def just going with 1 plant in 1 big pot..good luck talking me out of it now lol. if you do think you have a better idea though go ahead and let me know what it is

Yep. I know that guys one big ass plant looks tempting, but he has a 1000w hps light, so hes going to get a pound+. Unless you are going to get a plant that big somehow, which wont even be possible in your small of space, and even if you somehow rigged 1000w of cfls, you wouldn't get that much bud because the inner parts of the plant wouldn't be getting the lumens to make the good dense bud.

Yes for that guy 1 plant works because he has the light to do it, cfls are not going to do it.
I think you should invest in an hps if there is any chance you can afford it.
This guy sells cheap ballast/batwing reflectors/bulbs all in one 400w for 115 shipped or so on ebay, I just got a 400mh from him and its lovely.

I think you need hps because your setup, with low square footage but lots of height is the absolute worst for cfls.
cfls would be better in a high square footage low height setup, like a scrog. With your setup they will not penetrate the canapoy deeply and you wont get a high yield no matter how big of a plant you have. And with such small square footage and only one big plant you cant spread the plants out and put cfls in between for side/lower lighting.

I want an honest opinion from mygirls, if you really think it would be worth it to try and grow a plant like that or as big as possible in a 1.5x2 with cfls?

Scrogging will give you the highest yield per watt ratio possible. But dont take it from me, just look.

yeahh i see what youre saying. why cant you put the cfl's at diff levels of the plant though? thatd increase light penetration by a ton. and i know a high p sodium bulb would help out alot but i def dont have the money. i just need to go with cfls..im gunna be able to have alot of them in there by the time its in mid flower. and yeah i think a half pound is a bit much to wish for..id say even 4 ounces/a quarter pound would be great given my circumstance

very well said bro, and to answer your ? no its not possible. yes its all in the lights my friend. and i usually have 5 or 6 at a time under the light but had problems so i had to stagger them in 3 at a time. :bigjoint:

but mygirls you still think my best option is 1 plant? not that i have too much choice anymore i killed 3 of 7 off..but i could still have 2 or 3 females i guess

then do this take two of the three and put into flower but before you do cut some clones, then when them are done you well have a big plant in veg to move on in the flower room, but before you do cut clones off that one and keep this up. this will give you the chance to see the difference between big and small. good luck

bmh how many watts of cfl do you plan on running?
mygirls, how many weeks left on your plant?
i think we are about the same time, I wanna compare gram/watt ratios.
but actually if you get a lb I probably wont even be close.
I think im about qp+ range, although I only had a couple weeks veg from clone and I'm guessing your monster took a bit longer than 2 weeks

right now ive got..about 280 watts of CFL in there..plan to bring that up to 360 or so in about 20 days. then by the end of flowering i should have above 440 watts of cfl running in there. dont you think that should be good to produce some serious bud? how many grams of bud/watt is what u would consider good?

and mygirls i didnt totally understand what you were saying about the cloning. could u explain urself a bit better? are you talking about flowering the plants, and cloning the one(s) that turn out to be female and growing more, smaller plants instead of 1 big one?

With CFL's your grams/watt will be low and your bud will be fluffy. I used about 300 watts of CFLs on 1 female in a small space like that and got a little over an ounce and a half off of her. Not very high g/watt, and the buds were not dense at all. Very fluffy, in a bag it would look like twice it's weight. A half or quarter oz would look like a full oz in a bag b/c it was so fluffy, and I used 42w orange spectrum bulbs in flower mixed with some other cool blue spectrum bulbs. Either way it was still worth the experience, but HPS is the way to go. :bigjoint:

yeah i know my hopes were too high earlier because of my light/space issue. buut i do think i can get over 2 ounces with just cfls in this closet. we'll see..im sure youll be impressed with what i manage
