how much plant can these pots support?

ok then i guess the thread isnt closed!

the pots im using are 9 inches each in diameter..and the base is probably like 7 inches across..it doesnt taper that much

anyways the comments from the brick top made me lean a bit more towards 2 bigger pots again. it seems there is a mix of opinions about whether i could get a higher yield going with 2 big plants in 2 big pots or 4 small plants in my 4 2.5ish gallon pots. itd be good if we could clear this up a bit! :wall:

its all in what you want out of the grow. their is no mistakeing bigger pots bigger yields. bigger the pots the less you have to water. what do you want little or

i honestly just want as much bud as i can possibly yield..buut i think i want it fairly quickly too. but im willing to sacrifice time if it means yielding alot more

you really think 2 big pots with 2 big plants will yield significantly more than 4 plants in my 2.5 galloners?

out of those 4 plants what do you think you would yield. this one plant of mine im calling one pound. now i now if i was to grow 6plants in 5to 7 gallon pots, i will not yield near as much as i would with 2 plants like this.

out of this harvest i want to yield at the very least a quarter pound..hopefully closer to a half pound.

would this be more possible with 2 plants or 4? remember that i really dont have much outward space available in that closet so 4 plants that are mostly cola might actually be comparable to 2 plants that couldnt even be bushy to their potential

im thinking of even going with just 1 very big plant. do you think a half pound would be possible with 1 really big plant in my closet? remember my closet is 1.5 feet side-to-side, 2 feet front-to-back, so 3 square feet at the base, and is like 8 feet high. so i could grow an extremely tall plant and trim the leaves at the sides a bit so it wont get too bushy for the closet

what are the thoughts on this? 4 small plants, 2 medium plants, or 1 big plant? which is gunna give me the highest yield in my situation

anyways i want the questions from my last post answered.

4 small plants, 2 medium plants, or 1 big plant. which, in my situation, is going to yield the most

noone has any input on this eh? youd think people would have opinions/comments on this..

im not looking for a fast grow anymore..im willing to wait for an extra month or so to get a big yield. so what do you think. 4 small plants, 2 medium plants, or 1 big plant?

well she must still be pretty small or else a litre or two of soil would definitely stunt growth..

anyways cant anyone answer my question? is it smartest to go with 1, 2, or 4 plants if im going for big yield

the pots im using really look that small to you eh? im sure theyre at least 2.5 gallons..that couldnt support a small-medium sized healthy plant? or do you really think i should just get 2 really big pots and flower 2 females

I almost never grow in anything smaller than a 7-gallon pot. Also I never put more than one plant in a pot unless it is MASSIVE, like one I have out on my deck that is like 30-gallons, and only then if I have feminized seeds because if I end up with a male and a female yanking the male can be a problem with roots all grown together. I did it a few times years ago and had to dig down a ways around the male and cut the stem well into the roots to finally keep it from growing back.
A plants root structure will equal the above soil size. It won’t be the same shape of course and not have leaves but it will equal its size. Imagine a plant like you want to grow and then ask yourself if when it is getting large if you could yank it out and cram all the above ground growth into the pot or if it would be rather cramped if you did.

I'd keep what you got now growing until you sex them, and maybe transplant the best looking female into a big pot and grow her alone. I don't think you have enough room for much in that 1.5x2 space.

ok i think im going to go with 1 plant in 1 pot..even 4 small plants in that space wouldnt really work because theres just not enough outward space for the plants to grow. i think 1 big tall plant is the way to go
