This ^^I’d flip now. Your tents going to be packed.
Fem seedsThis ^^
As crowded as that space is already you will likely have to cull a lot more than one plant.
Remember that plants will double or triple in size after the flip. 4 of those plants would pack that space full if they were flipped now. Are the beans femmed or do you have potential males?
A scrog is used to train a plant out horizontally so as to fill the canopy area. Seeing as the area is already filled all a trellis is going to be good for is supporting the buds.Going to scrog on flip.
Do you think I should just pick the best 4 or 6 plants and flip asap? This ^^

How do you know what plants are the best though? You can't tell unless you flower them. What if you cull the only one that doesn't produce bananas? Just saying it's impossible to tell in veg who's gonna do what in flower. I have seen plants totally change personality after the flip, the runtiest plant ends up outgrowing the others.Do you think I should just pick the best 4 or 6 plants and flip asap?
Gotcha thanks so much for your input. Going to flip the lights tomorrow, clean them out and take clones. I think I'll just cull the one runt like you said. Although im kinda tempted to get a second smaller tent because I have a mars tsw 2000 I'm not using at the moment that I was going to eventually use for my clones for the the next run.How do you know what plants are the best though? That said, I would likely cull the runt since it will get pushed out by the others anyway.
It looks like you topped them at some point, this made them bushier, when growing multiple plants in a smaller space it is often better not to top them. I would say favor the top colas and lollipop off most of the lower branches. Basically pruning back the plants so that you can get like 4 - 6 colas per plant and run all the plants except perhaps the runt. Don't top branches as that will make the problem worse. I would put some hortitrellis in there at a height such that the colas will be supported, sometimes it's best to use more than one layer. After stretch (first 20 days of 12/12) make sure that any lower branches that don't get light are removed (lollipopping). This will let the plant focus all it's energy on the tops.
The benefit to having more plants aside from phenotype variation is the additional root mass. The added root mass from the other pots will make for more yield potential and less frequent watering.
The downside to the multiple plants is obviously the crowding and the potential for bananas (female staminate flowers).
I wouldn't say reliable but it works sometimes. If you intend to reveg the plant you will want to avoid lolli-popping and defoliation as you will want those remaining bits for reveg purposes. I have had strains that would never fully reveg even after months of 24 hour light but they are rare. Generally speaking though if you leave some nugs (the new shoots will come from these) and some fan leaves on the bottom of the plant you can harvest the top and reveg the bottom. When it revegged you will generally get several shoots out of each bud making for a bushy mother plant.@Renfro do you know if revegging a plant after flowering is a reliable way to preserve a particular pheno?
This is 9 plants in a 4x4, the ones at the back are 4 weeks ahead, its very crowded.Week 5 of veg. 4x4 tent. Growers choice roi680 led. Trying to fill this tent up as much as possible. Going to scrog on flip. I'm thinking about 2 more weeks, what do you guys think. Should I cull the runt in the corner?
Also curious why would having more plants lead to a higher likelihood of bananas? How do you know what plants are the best though? You can't tell unless you flower them. I've never heard this eitherAlso curious why would having more plants lead to a higher likelihood of bananas?
He didn’t say that. Also curious why would having more plants lead to a higher likelihood of bananas?
At the very end he didHe didn’t say that.
