How much light?

how much light should i have when i want to grow a really really really good monster plant anyone help me? i can get the lights i juz need to know how many watts.....would like 4 200 watt florecent bulbs be enough? would my plants grow?

2700 lumens per plant. from there the skys the limit. most use in the range of 18000-50000 lumens.

you want the right kelvin range too... chlorophyll absorption peaks at 2700k and 6500k(correct me on these numbers if you know closer ones). so the right "color" or "warmpth" is needed

well if i were to get the 4 200 watt florecents like i want to get then ill have 40,000 lumens right there and thats good right? the more light you have the better off you are correct?

if your gonna use 400 watts get a 400 hps with a son agro bulb then you'll get closer to55000 lumens flourescent suck, except for cloning

lumen - watt ratio is not linear.

i have 13 watters that put out 800, 23w'ers that put out 1600, and 42 watters that put out 2700 lumens. I am talking CFL's however... they are equivalents to 60, 100, and 150 watt light bulbs respectively.

well i can get cfls for free prettymuch though from where my cuz works he gets a discount on everything he gets there 200 watts and they will be pumping out like 10,000 lumens right there so if i got like six of em id have like 60,000 lumens pumpin right there now you really cant say thats not a good light source......

I am betting its a 60watt CFL however, a 200w equivalent.
