Hey guys, Just wondering the minimum amount of light needed to veg a plant as all my lights are tied up in flowering another plant. I have about 350w or T5 HO 2700k and a 320w Metal hailed with a coated bulb to give some yellow light. Should I just wait till its done or get a 43w cfl from depot/lowes ?

also Im confused how much light you have on your vegging plant now. I dont know everything but what I think is you need about 100-150watt CFL watts on your one plant that is vegging.... depending on how big it is. hope that helps

Plants do not need nearly as much light in veg as they do in flower. I have vegged under shop lights before with good results. I am currently flowering under a 400 watt MH conversion bulb and growth is very fast. I will switch to my 600 watt HPS for flower and maybe kick in the 400 watter with an HPS bulb at the end for good measure,.

Hey man, just from personal experience I have always veg'd with cfl's or the last time i Actually used an led light. Obv the more light the better but if you can concentrate the light froma single or maybe even 2 cfls for veg right over the top of that sucker you will have a foot to foot and a half plant in a month or so ( based on my actual growth cycle). And after 2 weeks flower cycle im sittin here with a shrub so those cfls from lowes work just fine imo! And maybe get some mylar its kinda expensive but if you set a veg box up, u can cover it once and that extra reflection of light will help with growing better plants if lighting supply is an issue.
