How much Canopy is covered by 1k watts???

So basically i already asked the question but just in case i wasnt specific enough

How many square feet (meters if you have to but id prefer feet) of canopy does a standard 1k watt HPS light cover and i dont mean total space where light is reached i mean like how much of that light is optimal for the plants. also is there a difference of canopy coverage of HPS vs MH?

You can get a sweet canopy with a 4x4 or 4x5 area with a 1000 watter.

i have 1k watts in a 4.5x4.5 foot room with a 95CFM fan it keeps the temps nice, 30~C lights on, 22~ lights off.... im getting the same results as you.

my personal opinion, is a 5x5 foot area is optimal for every 1k watts you want to grow with.

the area of coverage depends on the footprint of your hood. a super sun 2 won't get as much coverage as say, a vertizontal...

They are in 4x4 black tubs from hydo store. Foxfarm soil. lst and then lstd on screen. 3 oz per plant. 8 to 9 plants. 1000 watt lights. Navarna seeds from seed boutique.

I just bought a light meter yesterday, and my lumens are ranging from 3,800- 5,900(averaging about 4,700)under a 95,000 lumen 600 watt HPS, covering a 4' x 4' area. So, those extra 50,000 with the 1000 watt light should easily cover 5 x 5 and still average over 4,000 lumens per square foot(the math says 6,000). If you run more than one light, they overlap and give you a little extra coverage. I am getting over 8,000 per square foot where the 600 and 400 overlap.

no light rail.. just two 4 ft parabolic hoods stationary over the canopy wit two 1000 watt quantum ballasts wit the lights on the yoyo type hangers by sunmaster i think which allows me to raise them when i need to work and lower them to canopy level when im done.. check out the perpetual link for my last grow harvested 2 weeks ago and the double vsion for my current

Shit, i misread that. I thought it said 1000 watts, not 2000.LOL Man, that's a sweet setup. I have one of those 4' reflectors too, and I love it. I made the mistake of buying a second one with a 400 watt MH conversion, but the bulb was way to weak for that reflector, and my plants stretched like a motherfucker.LOL I still have it though, so I guess I'll have to add another 600 or 1000 to the project.
