I think I should learn how to spell Alcohol :)

I know I would blow .08 but I never feel drunk. I'm in my 30's,still work out and am in good shape. Just had a blood test and all is well from top to bottom. I'm sure I will cut back as the economy improves, but I've been on this run for a good 18mo.

you sound exactly like my dad. he was called a functional alcoholic. he could stop for weeks, or he could drink for months. he rarely looked or acted drunk. he had enormous tolerance to booze. so be careful because he died of alcohol related cancer of the bile duct in 5 weeks

I do have friends that HAVE to drink by 5pm or the shakes kick in.

full blown low functioning alcoholism?

So...How much do you drink and how often

after that story its amazing that i drink at all???? i like to start with three beers or one big strong whiskey on ice and follow that with three nice draws of some select top bud. it's my favorite buzz. but i dont drink more than a couple times a month. i dont even toke more that a few times in a month and only in the evening. i have way too much stuff goin on. plus when you grow up around pot you either go full mind blown smokehead or little to none at all, at least from what i've seen. dad was extremely insistant on himelf and everyone around him getting stuff done for us to become lazy smokies. stange huh? lol

I'm a recovering alcoholic. I have an occasional relapse that usually ends with me making enough of an ass of myself that I stay clean for another six months. I used to not care about it, so I guess I'm making progress.

The Raiders do always blow it. The only thing they have going for them is that they play next to my Golden State Warriors...the Warriors are nick named the "Dubs" hence the handle. Chargers looked awful for three quarters but once they let Rivers loose all went well.

Oh, while I watching the game I had three Jack N Sprites (no dark sodas guys, try it) and two beers. Canned Miller Light cause I'm classy like that.

very very little, like once every 3 months? or at special occasions sort of things.

I am not big on booze or tobacco (tobacco doesn't work for me never has).

none.
i went from a rack of pbr every two nights to nothing flat.
it was actually the easiest thing ever.
nothing about drinking is beneficial to the human body.
cannabis on the other hand..

almost none, maybe had like 3 beers (the small ones) this year, used to drink like a fish in my teens and early 20s though... then it just went away, now I don't enjoy the sensation of alcohol at all, so will only drink at below a level where it can be felt. Jagermeister shots makes me like shit drunk for 20 minutes, but they are so hard to decline when offered. I have no alcohol resistance.

I don't drink. Heck, I don't even smoke anymore. Paranoia got the best of me. If I did decide to smoke, I would probably end up trashing my whole grow lol

I used to drink a ton. I'd say about 40-45 drinks a week. Now im down to around 5-6. I went out with my brother and some of his friends two weeks ago and got shit faced. I sure paid the price for that one. I was sick all last week. Guess my ass is getting old.

I have a buddy that needs to stop.

Late April I strained my back from carrying too much weight. I was lifting too much and doing no cardio. Plus booz. Back went Pop. All I did was add 30 min of light cardio and cut the booz to 3 days a week for a month. I lost 15lbs. My body was sweating for weeks in the middle of Spring. It was cleansing. I had to sleep for two days cause the first 10lbs came off in two weeks.

Then I started drinking 7 days again :bigjoint:

One is too much and a million isn't enough for my buddy. He drinks a pint of Early Times right when he gets off work. Doesn't stop till he passes out wobbly drunk at 1am.

Everynight.
The way to beat any addiction is not to think about never drinking or smokeing again. What you need to think about is not smokeing or drinking for the next minute, and then the next and so on until its done.

You will never be not-an-addict, same as with a cigarette just one puff is going to leave you with the choice of going through withdrawal all over or to start again. You will not choose withdrawal.
But focusing on the next minute is an achievable goal. And if you could do that minute I bet you can do the next minute.
Most pangs are in the order of 3 minutes and will mostly be gone by the 4th day, but watch the clock, just another minute.

My parents were also alcoholics, though I never knew it, never saw them drunk, but my mom didn't drink cooldrink :) .

For your friend, who obviously is in aot of pain to be doing what he is doing, i would suggest getting him to swap the booze for chronic, it will also help him think about what is chewing him and what he wants to do about it, rather than go cold turkey. He is no doubt gonna get addicted to that too and will then need quit that addiction, but it is easier and shorter than alcohol.
