How Many Years Can a Mother Plant Keep Producing Clones?

Well here it is, folks, my very first post. I've heard stories of mother plants producing clones for many years. Curious to know, can a mother plant produce clones indefinitely, or does a time eventually come when the old girl can no longer be of service?

As long as a cannabis plant is kept healthy and in veg it will live hundreds if not thousands of years.
