How many run 24/7 lights?

Agreed.

I think 24 is great for the first week, But after that I always switch to 18/6.

Thanks I haven't fed them yet but, mixing up a tea to get their new medium started. In 10 days or so i'll be grabbing some clones off my 2 best ladies. As you can see there is hardly any stretch running 24/7 lights. Thick and bushy just the way I like my plants.

Im running 24/0 right now because my grow is in the basement and it gets down as low as 51 overnight when i switch to 12/12 i will put a heater in the tent to keep the temp stable

Keeping my lights on 24/7 keeps both my rooms from going below 58. Whatever works I guess.

Different strokes for different folks .. I have used 24 hours of light when growing harvest gardens . It always seemed to cut off a few weeks of veg when needed .. Now with my perpetual grow , I would be in trouble if I used a continuous light cycle in veg .. Its not fun trimming back girls due to space limitation in the flower room

Think about that extra 4-6 hrs of light per day. 31x4 or 31x6 = 124-186 extra hours on your electric bill. I think 18/6 or 20/4 is the way to go.

My question is, is it really cheaper to run your lights at night? i've heard you can save 30%. I also heard it's horseshit.

Look at your electric bill, it shows you that bit, peak and off peak usage with prices. Yes it is indeed cheaper to run your lights at night simply because not as much is being used everywhere. Its by no means 30% cheaper though

Ok. I don't pay my electric bill that's why I didn't know. But hey, anything helps!

My cellar drops to 50 at night. In the past i've run my woodstove burning almost a cord of wood a month. Woods 250 a cord in my neck of the woods. Verses an extra 4-6 hours a night running my 6oo. The extra hours of light runs an average of 40 bucks a month. Verses 250 for wood. Plus the hassle of maintaining the woodstove. The math is simple for me. Plus my results running 24/7 speaks for itself. Did you see the pic of my 3.5 week old clones? I think they also speak for themselves with the tightness of all the branches.

I can see saving 10% running at night but, not much more than that.

Here they are. 3.5 weeks in. Just transplanted into final pots yesterday. They still look a little rough but, should be cranking in a few days. Haven't fed them yet either. Second pic is 6 ladies almost 6 weeks since switch to 12/12. Starting to fatten up and get frosty now. 3-4 more weeks till chop.

I have done 18/6 and found growth not to be as vigorous as 24/7. I always transplant right before flower and the roots in both cases were about equal. At the end i'm going to guess and say I harvest about 15-20% more with constant light. Plants are much bushier and colas seem way denser.

And they do put the boots to ya" for stealing their power. Not worth it in my book!
