How many plants should i put under a 400watt HPS?...

Hi guys im just wondering realistically how many plants i should stick under a single 400watt HPS in a grow tent...

What do you think... how many are people on here doing? And if i stick less in rather than maxing it out will i still get the same yield?

I keep four under mine and they are doing great. You could go with more. But I would think that 6-8 would be max. It all depends on the height and how bushy they are.
 
Im gonna let them veg for two months and im using soil and biobizz nutrients - i have been using cfls so far but gonna make the change to HPS so not sure what to expect...
 
1.5 from the plant and you could do up to 12-14 plants with a 400w HPS if you plant the pots correctly. 2-3 vertical rows along with the light. Good luck, and happy growing.
 
Pretty as many as you are comfortable growing, like GG the expert said. The most I have vegged under a 400 watter was 12 and they did awsome, only 4 females in hte end.
