How many plants can I fit under three 1000w HPS lined up in a row. They plants will be in 7 gallon pots and I was thinking I could fit 9-16 or a 3x3 or 4x4 grid of plants under each light so that would either be 27 or 48 plants. What do you guys think would be the best option?

Well I use a 1000 watt hps on a 6 foot light mover, and I can get up to 8 under my vertizontal reflector without major overcrowding.

But, its still tight.

Worse thing you could do is to cram your plants together.

So, it matters what type of reflector your using.

If your using a wide reflector to disperse the light.

I would say you could grow out 5 with a stationary light.

These are big plants mind you.

If you wanna grow smaller plants, you may be able to fit ten underneath one hood..

It all matters on how your growing em.

im either going to plant in 7 or 5 gallon pots, not sure if i want to veg them for a long time or do a shorter veg and have a bunch of plants close together in 5 gal pots. which would give me a greater yield
