The Cold War began just as WWII ended. So, if you want the accurate figures on how many died in the Cold War, you'd have to take into consideration our "police actions" in Korea and Vietnam.

Don't forget Josef Stalin. And Chairman Mao's cultural revolution. The submarines on both sides that went down. The East Germans killed crossing the iron curtain. Pol Pot. The proxy wars in Latin America. The Mujahadeen against the Soviets in Afghanistan. The planes downed like the Korean Airlines Flight 007.
