how many nodes do you leave when lolipopping??

i seen a video of where kyle kushman lolipops his plants to leave only 3 nodes.
if i lolipop to only 3 nodes and give it a week before flip does the plant still grow additional nodes in flower?

Lollipopping is removing lower growth that the light isn't getting sufficient coverage to.

Perhaps you just mean topping? Removing the "top" of a plant breaks it's apical dominance. Forces the plant to grow into two new "tops".

I think what they are referring to is how many nodes to leave for bud growth on each cola top before flip.

I'm assuming they are thinking scrog.

Thats what I gather anyway.

He only leaves the top 3 internode growths, and strips the rest.. leaves fan leaves alone.. but clips the runt branches that even thru stretch wouldn’t make it to the top of the canopy. I disagree there.. that’s where lst should come into play.

I like his chiropractor technique tho. Fattens the branches up, and opens up for more water movement in the stems supposedly.

yes sorry he leaves the fan leaves.

my question was, if i did that and i pruned only to leave 3 nodes per branch, during flower it can still double in nodes?

Last grow, my plants were super bushy. To prevent mildew, I took a risk and stripped all the lower fan leaves after stretch. I left 2 sets of fans below the topmost bud on each branch. They were sufficient to continue photosynthesis and it reduced transpiration so my grow closet didn't get too wet.

Stripping prior to flip is fine, you'll be surprised how fast they grow back.

To be clear, I didn't "lolipop". I leave all the lower buds. As far as I'm concerned, they smoke just fine.

depends on strain and how much its stretched. but usually the top 3-4 nodes form a cola, then the 5th and 6th would be like big golf balls on the stem, and below that youll get lateral branches that grow off the main branch. thats usually where i start lollipopping.

im not worried about stripping leaves as i usually defoliate quite aggressive during day 21. i just wanted to try this new way of what kyle kushman talks about. leaving only 3 nodes per branch to get only big colas.
