Id worry more about getting rid of that heat than anything. Id say 1800 watts is fine, not much more. I have 1400. Heat is a big issue tho

any you have to worry about circuit breakers. my friends whole house only has so much power it can use, he cant run a vaccumm anywhere in his house if his lights are on

ok so i was thinking about either running 4 400 watters or 3 600 watters, which would be better, i know i would probably get denser buds off of the 600's but i would get more light coverage off of running the 400's and the 400's would give off less heat. but how would i go about finding out how many watts each room can handle, or would i try to find the wattage of the whole house?

I'll link you a thread I made when I was having trouble with electricity. a lot of people chimed in but only a few were actually legitimately experienced and intelligent and gave safe advice. read it carefully. this is not the area of your operation you want to cut corners or rig things just to make them work. but in short, go to your breaker box and find the circuit for your grow room. read the wattage of that circuit. assuming you're in the states, most rooms have a 15 amp circuit. this means the wires running from the breaker box and throughout the room are wired for that much power which is ~1600 watts.

and the lights depend on the quality of the ballasts and bulbs because 4 400's, while only at 1600 watts, may give off more lumens that 3 600s at 1800 watts. the light coverage(footprint) would be better but I dont think it would help you any with heat with an additional light.

here is that link clicky
