I will be getting a new setup on the build as soon as i got another $1000 to put into it.. then i will buy everything i need.....

But i was wondering how many plants could i fit into a room that's 7ft high....8ft wide.... and 9ft long...

This 7x8x9ft room will be only my flowering room and will be lit by 5- 600watt hps...

my veg area will be seperate and will be lit with alot of floro's (top lighting and side lighting..) (6ft wide.. 7ft long... 7ft tall)

I was wondering for my flowering room.. how many plants could i fit into it.. in order to get the best quality bud... I was going to put plants into the flowering room at about 2 1/2 ft tall..

Well, you can't go too big with 600s and 7' headroom, so I'd go with btw. 30 - 40. I do 12 for each 8x3 area.

I would do what I do...

48 single cola lollipops per 600 HPS on ebb flow trays...

Plants double/triple in size when you flower them...

You want your plants to finish no more than 3 ft tall...

Any taller and the lower part of the plant will suffer with less than ideal lighting....

You want short plants to give you the best quality.. and a SOG will give you the best quantities....

Read up on this...

This style of op is known as 'Sea of Green' or SoG.

You can build this op in any scale you like, from a single mother and just one plant put in to the flowering area every two weeks up to as big as your needs require.

The idea is to grow only the top cola of a naturally growing plant with none of the lower branches and the small buds those branches produce. All branching, pretty much everything on the lower 1/3 of the plant, is snipped off in about wk 2 & 3.

The method of putting clones in to flower with no vegging time keeps plants relatively short, to about 36-40" (1 metre), which better suits artificial lighting.

Even powerful HPS lighting can only penetrate foliage so deeply, so a metre tall is just about right. I find that big lights give better bud density, so I use two 1000W HPS, one over each pair of 4' x 4' flood trays.

Great thread. Thanks to all who shared. I am fixing to move some clones to bloom tomorrow based on what was said here. Now I have never quite figured out the need for dedicated Mothers. Why not not just snag some new clones from the lower branches of the old clones prior to putting them into flower? Thats how I have always done it once a good grow was established. I had a couple of obviously smart mothers who just give me a bunch of smart mouth hippy talk on this issue. Could somebody get real here? The nute schedule is going to be a biotch.

It is simply a personal choice...

With moms.. I take BIG clones that require ZERO VEG... and that is a little harder to do cloning from clones...

Like I said it is a PERSONAL CHOICE...

Careful now...:joint::peace: :razz:

What do you mean?

My flower room is at a constant 5.8 pH and 1400PPM... every day... every week...

Could not get simpler...:lol::razz:

Here you can see plants that are just starting... and plants that are almost done on the same tray..

this grow will be a soil grow.. i know that hydro is faster.. but it's just a personal preferance.. i like the idea of 25 plants.. i intend to have the lights some what close together in order to get the most light.. but the room is already that size..soo

and i prefer to take clones from mother plants.. and have them veging while the other 20 are flowering...

What if i used 4- 600watts on each side(corner) of the room.. and then used a 1000watt in the middle.. would that give me even light coverage... but with better quality yeild out of 25-30 plants?

I would use 6x 600w before I used 4x 600 + 1k...

But that is just my opinion...

I treat every 3x3 area of my of with a 600w and I am happy with the results...:weed:

well my budget can only reach the cost of 5- 600watts.. also i dont my elec.bill to be super high.. would it still be ok to put another 600watt in the center for a total of 5?

Well... then I guess that is what you can afford to get...

also i dont my elec.bill to be super high..
You wanna run 3k watts + and do not want your bill to be high???:o I think you are getting into something you need to study a lil more...:-P

would it still be ok to put another 600watt in the center for a total of 5?
Like I said, I believe each 600w is adequate for a 3x3 area....

Go with what you know..

But if money is an issue, why not start with one or two ad get yourself going.. then dream of bigger...

Just my opinion...
