I assuming that must really up your yields by putting all your bulbs on her ?

Congrats dude, you got exactly 420 posts !
I don't know about yield, but I'm sure that it is upped dramatically.
Most of what I like is the shape.
And I came back here to say, 420 posts!

WHat do you mean by shape? Does it get bushier or something by having lights on the sides?

I have a couple of fluorescent ballasts around that hold two bulbs each...was thinking of using those bad boys some where around the sides of her.

23W's seem like a waste of space to me, why not get 42W's instead? Only slightly bigger, and just as readily available?
actually the smaller the better 23 watts is god low as i will go,kuz you can spread the light out moor with less heat and less light wasted.., i used 42w with my 200w diamond series led and my room needs to be cooled down when i flip them on i switched to 23 watts and i have no heat problems any moor, cfls do give off some heat and 85f on the plants i grow they hate it... i was told i had to much light on my 2 plants but i found out for my self the cfls with the 2oow led gave me better bud and a they was way fatter then when i just ran the 200w led my its self. but i had to change my feeding schedule around.plants was growing faster but wanted less food

The original question is kind of a loaded question to me. As youll see in almost any thread about anything here, "it depends on ____." Haha

I have 2 identical small cabinets for clone and one is a small veg cabinet. Each is 12"x18", or 1.5 sq ft. For my little clone cabinet, i have two 23w, 1600 lumen CFLs for 10-12 small plants (3200 lumen, 46w). My small veg cabinet has just one 40w light for 1 small plant (both seem to be more than adequate for what im doing). My flower cabinet has six 23w CFL, but theyre around the perimiter of the 2' four bulb T5 (which is 96w, and around 9,000 lumens) for a total of 234w, and 18,000ish lumens (2'x3' cabinet, so 3100 lumen per sq ft, and 35w per sw ft).

As far as straight cfl for veg, i dont feel that a ton of power is needed, maybe 80w per plant for small plants up to roughly 1.5 feet tall. Having them evenly spaced and close to the plant is really important though. CFL loose a lot of their penetration as they get further away.

Sorry, i needlessly went into a lot of detail, but i wanted to know, so i dragged you all along while i figured some of it out.
