Do the top or the bottom buds mature and finish first? And is the ice water and cold shock and 3 days of darkness really make a difference...?

It would be easier to tell if they were under natural light. But some of those pics looks like it's at least 3 weeks away. The tops will generally mature faster. As for the ice and the darkness I'm going to go with "no comment".

If its a hybrid: prolly 2 weeks you'll notice the mains kept swelling, hardening and trichs are getting amber.
Depending on how u like 'em, you go from there and decide when to chop.

looking nice tho, you could prolly flush and cut 'em next week if you really wanted to.
forget about the ice water...

Still throwing new growth on a couple but whole plant shots needed. Some of the bud runs look super skinny and need to fill out unless that's just the pheno expression.
Check back with full pics and tricome pics in 2 weeks.

I ran Ice cream cake and Runtz muffin this year, they were the complete opposite.
While the ice cream cakes thew out huge nugs that were in the end lighter, the runtz muffins
looked rather disappointing at first, but turned out to be super dense and compact buds in the end.
You never know until you see what you see..

Yea bud definitely give two weeks,watch how much more trichomes you'll see. Also you'll notice the pistols curling back into the flower when done.

1. Keep going - especially if new growth is noticeable. Plant is running the show. It doesn’t care what day / week or moon cycle you are on.

Plants do not follow breeder estimates. Your setup for the grow will dictate when the actual finish will be. No matter what the strain / seed info says.

2. Forget ice baths or other BS myths. Its a plant - nothing else . What other plant would you need an ice bath for ? None.

3. Darkness - Another well worn myth , it doesnt do much other than limiting photosynthesis ( plant will also express more odor ).

The only benefit IMO is that a plant separated in a tent under darkness allows YOU to cut plant down on YOUR SCHEDULE.

Example : I begin to pre trim harvest ready plants. I remove the bulk of leaves and trim up the buds while still in container. Then I sequester them into a dark tent for awhile to continue to DRY in container ( as long as needed ) until i feel they are getting dry hang ready. Plant is still in potting container UNTIL i feel like chopping completely.

Run it as long as needed, but its your plant , choose wisely.


If plant is still feeding and growing then you know it wants to keep blooming.

btw: also no 3 days darkness... terpenes are built while the light is on... cutting after the night period, or "in the morning" might give you an advantage because your lights arent hot yet, no extra darnkess period needed from my point of view.

They are adding weight. Perhaps support the heavier ones. A simple line of twine secured above ( tent rails ) can add support to those droopy ones. Or a dowel for staking.

Just let them do there thing.
