How long would it take to veg out a 5x5 bush under a 1000w mh using scrog?

What were u spending in power a month one that 1000watt. I'm gonna be doing 3x1000 watts starting in veg obviously and then switching once my screen is full. Just trying to get an idea of my monthly expenses.

Very cool. I'm currently using the entire line of an organic company out of Oregon called Nectar for the Gods. I've never used GH before since I've been in soil for years now, and I always go organic... Most of my nutrients come from my soil, but I got the whole line of Nectar for free from a friend who owns a Hydro shop, so I figured, why not try it out? :) So far, the results are awesome. No nutrient burn at all, and one huge, green, lush plant!! This strain is called Orange Crush, and it turns purple all the way through the buds and has flaming orange hairs. It's quite a gem. Love that purple weed!!

Oh yeah, sorry, I forgot to answer that before. The electric bill here is pretty low. We have a 3 story house, and we live in snowy Colorado. Running the heat in the winter, with my 1000w on 12 hours a day, we pay about $130 a month. And honestly, we didn't even really see a bump at all when we added the 1000w on. If you're running more lights you'll also be running more cooling, more extraction, etc. These things add up, but I don't see it costing all that much in the long run. I've found that if you're pulling 8-10 ounces a month off of each light, you don't worry too much about spending $200 on electricity.

Hell yeah, I'll be watching ur grow. I think yyou'll be happy with ur harvest. They look happy. I love scrog I don't know if I'll ever go back to just growing naturally because the proof is in the puddin as they say. Hmm this is my first shot at soil. I kinda went head first into hydro. I didn't think about it but I wonder if GH is ok for soil? Most likely I'm guessing. I'll just see how it goes when I set up but I like ur technique a lot.

Thanks a lot, man! I'm going to get a grow journal going tonight now that I know how to do this a little better... I'm surprised at how easy the format is to use on here. But anyway, I think that GH is fine for soil too. I know that my brother has used their FlouraDuo line for months now as his base nutrient for his soil grows. He seems to like it. I personally prefer to build a living soil that's full of microbes, and only feed organic nutrients, because the taste in the end is phenomenal, but I know a lot of people on here have used GH and a number of other nutrient lines. I experimented with Advanced, Green Planet, House and Gaarden, and Datch Passion before I ended on organics. I still love Bud Candy to this day, and I think that Green Planet's Massive is one of the best products I've ever used. It instantly beefs your flowers up. It will make them visibly swell overnight, and it's pretty easy to use. I have burned plants with it, though... Anyway, best of luck to you!!

I'm hoping to stay under 250$ a month for energy. I realize during flowering it'll drop significantly and and am considering the cost of cooling the lights but what do u think. 3x1000 watts, timer, .inline fan, regular circulating fan. Co2. Humidifier. And then a 90wled UFO for clones and then a400wmh for veg during flowering

I'm gonna be using promix and earths organics. Idk if u ever heard of those but both hydro stores whom compete with each other recommended it.

Yeah, that sounds like a great set up. I have a separate room for vegetation at my place as well. It's really nice to be able to get your next plants going while you're flowering. I take clones right before I flower, so that I have 2 month old bushes ready to flower by the time the current crop finishes. The plants get up to about 4 or 5 feet in that time, and I just veg them under CFLs at first, and then move them under a T5. The T5 is so cool that all I need in my veg room is a box fan and an outlet fan. I spent all of $16 on cooling that room, and probably $200 to light it. Cheap as hell!

I run one 6" 440cfm can fan and a carbon filter in my room, and it keeps my temps at 76 degrees max, with the 1000W on, and the door on the tent closed. I have one window of the tent opened where the exhaust fan runs out, and the temps are always perfect. That being said, in my previous 5 grows, I used a lower quality bulb, and I ALWAYS had temperature issues. I was running my can fan and a standing fan, with the door and a window completely open, and temps were always at about 77-80 degrees. For some reason, when I switched to the Ushio HiLux bulb for this current grow, my temps dropped, and have been totally stable at 76 max for the last three weeks. They usually hover a little lower than that, at about 74, and I can get the bulb like 12" from the canopy before it gets too hot. With a 1000w, that is AWESOME.

To cool your 3 1000w bulbs, you'll probably need a 6" can fan pushing air, and another one pulling air out of your garden. Depending on your space, you may also need an air conditioner in the summer months. I always recommend running your light cycle at night as well, when it's naturally cooler. I run plants from 6:45 p.m. to 6:45 a.m., for example. I never have to deal with the natural heat of the house at that time. I also flower in my basement, where the concrete walls keep it nice and cool as well! :)

Happy growing to you!

I got my grow journal up and running now too. Check it out if you get a chance! It explains how I do everything, what my set up is, all of that. Let me know if you ever have any other questions in the future as well. The grow community is pretty awesome. Once you get connected with good growers around you, you'll be amazed how helpful everyone will be. People out here in the medical circuit give each other clones all the time, we set each other's gardens up, give away free meds... I learned everything I know from reading on here and running experiments in my basement. Haha. It's amazing how much information is out there, how much people will help each other grow this plant... :)
