how long should a bulb last ?

how many grows should a new hps bulb last ? will i notice a difference in my grows towards the end of its life ?

It really depends on the photoperiod are you using 24/0 or 18/6 or 12/12? But usually like 2-3 grows is a good life expectancy for a bulb. If you're lights flicker replace 'em

Should last a year I would guess

9 to 12 months depending, but a bulb will become less and less bright as time goes on so it is not a bad idea to change them before they burn out completely.

I change mine every 6 months

I use a 1000 watter at 12x12 and ya can get 3 to 4 grows out of them.

I run it on 12/12, $20 every 6 months isn't much of a price to pay for some nugs

ya but if you mix it in the veg stage 18/6 4 grows is kinda pushing it. Just replace if they flicker. or if you notice any signifficant differences

I doubt I will be able to notice any decrease in lumens, I veg under a seperate light

ya that's what I thought, but ya I replace aftertwo grows, but I use the same bulb.
