How long has it taken you for seedlings to sprout?

I germinated a seed from one of my old bags and planted it in a plastic drinking cup. I watered it in and have only watered it once since I planted it a week ago I think. The last plant I tried growing didn't sprout as a seedling even after a whole week. I'm starting to get concerned as I can only tend to one plant at a time.


Should I germinate a new seed and try again? My first ever plant sprouted within 3 days.

if it cracked when germed it should pop out. keep the soil "damp" until it pops out then keep it "moist".
