how long does it take for plants to show signs after adding nutes to soil

title says it....how much time should it typically take, my last grow was hydro and plants showed signs quickly...just trying to get a ballpark with soil. I don't want to jump the gun and overfert.

Show signs of what, sex? Usually happens in 4-6 weeks for pre-flowers to show. Adding nutes isn't necessarily going to speed things along.

not sex, they are all female..3 weeks flowering. I have a deficiency...I flushed soil in case of lockout...PH is fine...added nutes...now wondering how long until I should notice improvement. I added nutes 24 hours ago, I was going to add more next watering but I don't want nute burn. Should I see an improvement 24 hours after adding nutes to soil? The soil is still damp, so I am guessing that the plant has not taken up all the nutes I added to the last watering. I used to do hydro and burn would show up in a matter of hours, how does this relate to soil? I realize it will take longer to show, but how long?

Firstly, it's usually a good idea to start feeding at 25% the recommended dose just to be safe, and then work your way up from there week to week if they respond well. Also, you should only be feeding with nutes every other watering. Can't say when your plants will recover, but hopefully they'll bounce back in a week or two. Any pics?

my avitar is a pic I took a few days ago. I'll try to take more later. I have been doing it every other watering. But since this is my first soil grow, and first time using the nuts, (and the fact that I had a tough burn problem with my hydro grows, hence the switch to soil) I am nervous about burning them. But being apprehensive lead to a nute def. Now I want to correct without doing further damage. They are also slightly root bound, so I have that to deal with too. But being 3 weeks into flower, it is too late to transplant. I never expected them to stretch so much. I stopped vegging at 8 inches in a 1 gal pot, they stopped stretching at 24". So I just want to finish this as easily as possible, and use larger pots next time.

One thing I've noticed with my own plants, is once you've damaged them with nutes, (and sometimes deficiencies), the damage doesn't go away. What I mean is you can correct the problem, stop further damage from happening, and new growth will be normal - but the leaves already damaged will stay that way. I've usually seen changes from anything nute related within 24-48 hours. Hope that helps a little. Good luck!:peace:

it gives me a time frame...so yes it does help. Thanks. I think I just need to relax and be a little more patient.
