How long do Seeds last?

There are 2 sales this weekend. The seaofseeds 20% off and the Nirvana weekend deal being Bubblelicious. I want to take advantage of these sales, but I am uncertain of the shelf life of the seeds. I have eggplant and pepper seeds that are 2 years old and albeit the rate of germination has deteriorated but the still germinated. Thoughts?

Agreed. just put them away they should be fine. anyone heard of freezing them? Just curious

ive heared if people frezing them or putting them in the fridge and they still sprout and grow fine almost 10 years later idk tho ive just kept seeds in baggies n used em 5 years later n it grew fine

I just cracked a bunch that were 5+ years old. Keep in bottom of fridge in air tight tupperware filled with white rice. Place beans in rice filled sandwich baggie. Seal baggie. Put baggie in rice filled tupperware. Wrap container in aluminum foil. Good to go for years and years.

Seeds have a great shelf live if place in to right enviroment.

last year I germinated about 20 seeds just from the odd ones you pick up in a bud...most were at least 5 or 6 years old.....almost all sprouted

A 2,000 year o0ld palm seed was germinated.
I have some seeds from about 1990 I am itching to pop. I think they are either Skunk #1 or Blueberry.
