To be more precise, I want get an early start for Spring planting in NJ. I want to germinate and keep them in the Solo Cups for two months under a 4x8 T5. My aim is to synchronize when I start germination + 2 months for transplant outside on ~Jun 1.

So I plan on starting germination on April 1 for June 1, if the Solo can handle 2 months. Or do I wait for 4/15 to start thus giving me 6 weeks in the Solo cups. I have 26 feminized seeds from Herbs.

I've done a ton of researching (and thinking) but need help on the timing so I get it right. Prefer not having to transplant into a bigger pot unless necessary. Thanks for reading.

from seed . hmmmmmmmmmmmm. will get 6 inches tall week 3 . week 6 12 inches tall. I would suggest min 1 gallon pots. would be perfect. if your a good farmer you could keep them in solo cups but then the roots wont have a chance to get bigger and that will make a major role when you plant them into the ground. how fast they grow out side .

I'd probably germinate in 4" pots and transplant into 3 gallons when they are ready, if you have the room for it. The bigger root ball you have when you put them into the dirt, the better.

two months in a solo cup it will become root bound.
Sounds like a perfect clone to harvest or seed to harvest thing to do if you don't have room or a lot of equipment.
Makes me want to do this when I go on vacation for 2-3 months, just sit some cups of MJ on the balcony and grow that shit.

Nix the solo cups, I'll start them in 1/2 gal pots for six weeks for a June 1 transplant outside. I think that would be a better solution rather than transplanting. Much thx for the input.

Does that make sense? I'll take pix and post as I go along on this phase.

Glad to see others from Jersey:peace:
