How is this COB LED build?

I just bought me a 630 de cmh I’m finally going to try. I haven’t used traditional lighting in awhile but I love the spectrums I’ve seen.
I think you will like it, i love my cmh. It outputs a lot of UV light so make sure you wear eye protection. Are you using a DE bulb or two 315s? I found that my 315 works best in a vertical reflector, much more intensity.

Even vero 29 sold in 2014 was able beat the pants off HPS. Gen 7 is like 5-10% more efficient than those. Initial price aside, it's no contest..

Keep in mind that Kinggro talks out of his ass and has never yielded 1.6g/W.

This is your opinion, you and others pushed aside science and forced the newest exspensive fad on this site till you had either squeezed most who dont agree out or just trolled your argument till they gave up and went elsewhere.

We all know the facts and hype of leds, not blind :-)

“How dare these younguns try to make a moving cart that moves without something to pull it. That’s just darn crazy talk, it’ll never catch on.”

The only thing most of yhese new folk dont catch is the science of heat and light such as thermodynamics, they do catch a lot of copy and paste over leds which they then proceed to march round the site proclaiming bs....

Well its been going on for quite a few years and pushed most of the good growers out , im still here and have posted many hot ass hps pics that simply defy the new site logic.

So yer its too easy for you too find someone too agree with your own personal opinion and justify that exspensive cob unit but a lot harder to get to the actual truth.

One would be fairr to say there are very few farmers here but sheep aplenty....!

I don't remember expressing an opinion about the subject as much as commentating on what was said. I never disagreed or said they were better than anything else, just thought certain things said we're comical.

I agree and appreciate you pointing that out.
It’s not to crucial if it’s the equivalent, I’m mostly just interested in building my own decent led light for a small 3x3 area for personal growing. I grow outdoors mostly, and although I have a few 600w HID setups, I can’t be bothered with them. I’ve had bad luck with ballast quality in the past and it’s so uncomfortable under a HPS.

And Lord,
Yes the aquarium community is definitely a part of the discussions, I wonder if they get as in depth or care as much about par ratings, and efficiency.
Unless you've got £800+ to spend on a decent led imo you can't beat 600w dual spec hps with digital ballast.. well if you want a high yield anyway.. electricity costs to run a 600w hps is so much more cheaper than I thought.. £12 per week for the light (18hr) extraction kit an 2 6in fans.that £108 for an full grow.. would only just get 1/2 oz of average bud round my area for that price

If your looking for a strip build to compete with a 600 watt hps I would do 5 of the 4' samsung double row strips with a hlg-480-48a driver. That would cover a 4x4 well and the driver is dimmable as well. The strips are only 44" wide so will fit in a 4x4.
