How Important is Flushing??

I have some little plants and some of the smaller nugs are ready but the main cola still has some time to go, when I finally parted the sea of green i noticed that the nugs are ready but, I just gave them nutes the other day. Should I give them water for a couple of days and then harvest and push my luck or should I just trim now when the picking is good?

There is a hot debate, it has been going on forever, it has never been won. Some say it's vital, others say it's a waste of time. This drastic set of stances and no single outcome, rather indicates that it really isn't as important as people would make out, that is to say the differences are negligible.

Personally, i have grown near all of my plants without flushing. I also grew plants from the same mother side by side, one being flushed, one not being flushed, i never noticed any difference whatsoever, i considered it a waste of time. The only difference was that the leaves yellowed on the plant that was flushed.

Flushing plants grown in soil is a fool's errand. Many here are very adept at it. Think how long it takes for a plant to respond favorably to nutrients or whatever. Flushing and hoping the plant takes a big dump? A waste of time and water.

i'm down with both of these, and like tip top said, if it really made all that much of a difference, there would be no debate, everyone would simply flush, but that's not the case, so the debate continues.

So the best thing would be to do is cut the ready nugs and the others go. Should i keep giving it nutes till the day of harvest?

you can cut down on the nutes the last few days imo, but that's a bit different then dumping gallons of water through a medium in an attempt to flush out nutrients in the soil..

I used to flush and had nice smooth hits. My hash never crackled. I didn't flush this last time. Very few people notice it is harsher. It doesn't crackle. My hash does crackle. Both quick wash iso and soaked iso. I use general hydro salty nutes. Not one person has had one complaint about the ones not flushed. I am gonna flush half and not flush the other half this time but for now that's my info.

Flushing is a corrective action for mediums after using too many products, that's why Fox Farm used to sell their own brand of flush.

Last time I had that rice krispie herb(snap, crackle, pop)was when I first began growing indoors using Miracle-Grow...lol.
