How high to hang LEDs over seedlings

Hi everyone.
I'm curious on how high to hang an LED grow light over some seedlings.

I will run an 18/6 cycle. Space is 2x2x4.
Light is HLG 225. (In the mail)
I will dial the light back from full power.

Any help is appreciated!

Don't know if this helps, but I've been told the best thing to do is ask the manufacturer.I know that's not always possible, though.

I have 2 x 240 watt leds and keep them about 2' away from seedlings and at roughly 120 watts each light. My lights run quite hot so I err on the side of caution.

Thanks!

I'll send them an email once I get my light.

Sometimes the manufacturers will just ignore you, but the better ones will take the time to reply!

For me it's all trial-and-error. I start with them at two feet away and then just slowly dial up the light intensity. Gave some plants a bit of light burn once but nothing they couldn't recover from.

Good luck and here's hoping for a bountiful harvest!

Buy a lux meter and find out. Actually measure the light. That's the only way to know.

Then and only then can you set your light height.

Seedlings, 13.5k to 15k lux.
Ever tried a lux meter app? I know there are plenty out there for Android but never tried one. Just curious if you anyone else has tried one out because I should be measuring my light strength as well.

I don't own a cell phone. I use an 'Extech Led Lux meter'.
