how fast do roots grow in dwc?

so i checked my plant this morning when the hps came on.
one hour after switching to a better nutrient solution for flowering they grew way more.

You'll see your shit take off once the roots hit the water, it's all a race after that.

Ya, when they get down to the water, they explode. Even if the tops look like they are doing nothing, your roots will grow by inches every day.

damn man. i only started deep water culture to see how fast the roots can grow. so what happens with deep water culture? do the roots grow fast then the top will develop or do they grow equally. once the roots are established in the water will the plant explode in growth ontop?

It explodes both ways, you'll definitely see it happen if your conditions are proper.

ive got the temp perfect, the humidity just right, the 400 watt hps. heavy 16 nutrients bloom a and b the ph is 5.6. ppm is 500 right now

wow they did explode since yesterday morning

i just switched to dwc from soil. I was surprized to see roots grow by about 4 inches in 6 days! my little seedlings have really took off!

i have a purple kush seedling im going to transfer to dwc.

watch out for that thick root that will crack open the holes in the netpot

really? what should i do? just keep an eye on it? and how come that is the only root that has horizontal roots branching off? kind of looks like a dna helix.

nah it's no problem at all, it just grows so thick that it cracks the holes in the netpot open, you wouldn't notice it except when you look below the lid, but it looks like a monster plant from a fairy tale lol it only happens in DWC

yah im so intrigued by DWC. do the buds taste like soil buds do?

i don't see a difference in taste between buds of hydro and soil, only difference i notice is between cured and non cured. i tend to do DWC in winter flood/drain in summers

There is nothing you can do if she starts to crack the net pot. There is no need for alarm, however. Worst case scenario, you will have to replace the pot for the next grow.

The other roots will eventually get the same horizontal branching once they get long enough.

do you guys think i should add some rhizotonic to the bucket? how long will a small bottle, .25 liter will last? if i change the water once a week and add it to 3 gallons of water. its pretty pricey will it last a while? at least one crop with one bucket? it says 2 tsps per gallon, but do i use it the whole growth cycle?

and cannazym. is it worth the 30 bucks for it? also, if i decide to use both, is it essential to get a tds meter to read the ppm? if i need it, what one should i buy first? the additives or the truncheon meter?

all i got to say is watch out for root aphids they will fuck your grow up...as they did with my current grow...
