How far away do i keep a 600w MH bulb away from seedlings and cuttings?

i dont want to burn my babies!!!

i have 1 600w metal halide in a budbox tent and its literally 6 foot away at the min coz i dont want to burn them.

need answers!!!!

I'd say 2-1/2 feet is probably ok. Thats a little less than 4000 lumens/sqft.

Agreed, 2 1/2' is good for seedlings, but not so good for cuttings, if they've not rooted yet. If you're still waiting for them to take root, move them off to the side, not in the dark, but not in the direct light, either. If they get too much light, they'll take longer to take root, because they are trying to photosynthesize, rather than sprout roots.

do seeds need to be put under a propogation dome or not? i have my cuttings in the dome, and i have the seeds in soil but not under any dome?

is this correct as ive heard cuttings need alot more humidity?
