Damn $740 dollars for nutes on a single grow?!? I spend about $730 less than that per grow possibly less and I've tried hydro nutes can't tell a difference with good, old, trusty Jacks Classic has all the same macro and micro nutes it's just a fucking plant nobody goes spending hundreds on a tomato grow and they grow some mighty fine tomato's. :bigjoint:

I have been an advanced Nutes user for some time.. And it is WAY expensive. So what I have included here is a cost analysis of using Advanced nutes through an entire grow.

Using the recomended dosage from Advanced website Nutrient calculator and selecting Master grower check out the numbers. They shocked me.....

The following are totals for entre grow, (to see a by week by break down see excel spread sheet)

These numbers reflect 12 plants given 1 gallon of nute treated PH adjusted water once a week each, and PH adjusted water in between feedings

Ok. I spent $640.00 on dry nutrients two years ago and I've used less than half of it. I average three 100 gallon nutrient solution changeouts a week, for usage reference.

You're spending somewhere between twenty and two hundred times too much, depending on the bottle. For example; a quart of Bud Factor X is $80 or so at the hydro store, right? Did you know that all it has in it is epsom salt?! And that Wal-Mart can give you the very same nutrient in dry form- for $8 for a big bag?!

You're just supporting someone's lifestyle with those prices- and it's not yours!

Hydrogardens.com:
5-12-26 plus micros 'hi K' hydroponic mix

Yara Liva brand Calcium nitrate

Epsom salt (or get it at Wal-Mart)

MKP = monopotassium phosphate

That's all you need, the rest is bullshit or a crutch for bad growing skills.

Advanced Nutrients can "get expensive" but it doesnt need to be. Commin misconception is that they are expensive which is true if you are comparing it to powdered nutrients or cheap synthetic fertilizers like DynaGro or Cutting Edge.

But im comparison to the other "Big 3" nutrients: Canna - H&G etc.. Its very comparable and can be less expensive than its counterparts.

AN's 3 part PH Perfect is actually less expensive than GH 3 part bases you get more for same price and its better nutrients and comes PH stable hence the name "PH Perfect"

With that said if you want a decent run and good yield. All you will need is this:

Choose your base nutrient:
Big Bud - only weeks 3- 6/7
Overdrive - only use thru weeks 6/7- to the flush weeks 8/9
Voodoo Juice - need alot of this because you run it thru all of veg and first 2 weeks of bloom
B-52 - use this all thru veg and than the 3rd week of bloom to ripening phase

You can get good results just using these products. Only thing I recommend using in addition is a root stimulant of your choice. I like H&G roots excel but another good product is Liquid Karma which has benes and microbes as well from Botanicare. And I would also use either Great White or Organism XL.

Than use the bud ignitor in bloom all you need is the small bottle only use it for 3 weeks. I like to begin using it 1 week before ou flip the lights really gets the sites setting fast and flowers in no time. Than 2 weeks of bloom and your done with it.

I really like using the Conniseur bases but the Jungle Juice is more organic and is really good shit too.

Dont believe the bs on these forums about AN being watered down and over priced this is usually coming from people who dont even use their products and have never even tried it so take it with a grain of salt. I love their line and have had great results for many years with their products.

But theirs so many nutrients to choose from it doesnt really matter what you use as long as you provide them with the main 17 essential elements, innoculate your mediums to promote good root health and strong support system for your plants, and make sure uour environment is correct and your results will be good. In regard to AN they IMHO will out yield and outperform most of the nutrients on the market they make crazy claims but their products di what they say they do.

I also like Canna and Botanicare, and more recently I have been trying out the Aptus additives with Botanicare Bases with good results, but IMHO for the price I'd rather just use AN or Canna. I have gotten really good results with Botanicare Kind Formula this is some good shit too highly recommend it especially in coco/peat based mediums. You can tailor it to your grow and its very inexpensive compared to other stuff out there and mostly all organic which is very nice as well. Id say I like it better than AN for overall quality (*not yield) but the flavors, smell and aromas take the cake as one of my all time favorites. You dont get as much yield though roughly 30% less.

how many plants will that 740 feed?
When I run AN I grab a gallon of bases. Gallon of Voodoo and the Litre of the other additives thats enough for 3-4 Lights usually with some bases left over. For 3-4 Lights its going to cost around 500-600$

So basically costs you anywhere from 150-200 per light roughly give or take. And if youre getting 1.5-2 lbs per light its costing you about 100-150$ per pound. I dont think thats every expensive. Electricity is gonna cost you maybe 50-60$ per light so to produce 6-8 lbs on a 4 lighter with utilities, containers and medium maybe costs you 200-250$ per pound, so thats sounds good to me!!

no bottled nutes for soil, if you want to use actual soil, go organic, if you want to use bottled nutes, they work best in soiless mediums
AN has an all organic line. And most of their other bases and additives are a proprietary blend of organics and synthetics. Ou really need both to get the flavors, quality and yields. Thats why I do not run straight synthetic lab made salts. They just dont come out as good at all. You get great yields but subpar quality and its very noticeable difference IMHO. I can tell right off the bat if someone use synthetics and I can tell if someone flushed and how long they flushed for roughly from smoking it and smelling it. But thats year and years of experiencing average users who dont grow probably cant tell.

Ive been running Heavy 16 nutes in vermafire soil and I am extremely pleased with the results so far!
Its a great company, check them out!

Nice post. Advanced are good nutes and not so bad if u just use a 3 pt feed. Sensi A-B for flower with some Mother earth. U can use half the recommended dose and produce a fine product. That said, I refuse to BUy overpriced nutes. N-PK is N-PK period. Macros I do purchase once a year. No way I'm spending more on nutes than I did my HPS.

Just an idea. Make your own nutes! Free and easy! Unless u wanna pay for the bottle with a pic of a bud on it. Just saying.'

You mean AN paid for an organic cert right?
They dont have any certificates on their labels they just use organic derived nutrients in their products. They arent omri certified they dont claim to be. They just have an all organic line but they still do use some synthetics in their blends because they understand to get high yields you need to use synthetics. Same as Vegamatrix which is a veganic organic line that still uses 5-10% synthetic nutrients and additives so you can get the yields we all desire.

There are very few all organic certified 100% nutrients unless you are making super soils and amendments. I believe I could be wrong but Natures Nectar is one of the only true all organic fertilizers that I know of. Bio-Bizz I believe is also all organic but I dont think they are certified either.

Almost every company I can think of that is mostly organic uses synthetics in their blends. Fox Farm, Botanicare, GH, AN.

The other really good all organic lines are H&G Bio-1 and Bio-Canna. I dont know about certifications or anything like that but those are really really good organic nutrients that you can use that are liquid ferts.

Obviously if you want to go all organic or veganic theres nothing like building your own soil and using teas and innoculants and just watering. These super soil mixes have really come along way and I have seen some amazing results doing grows in this manner. And it produces some really really nice quality meds that I dont think you can get using synthetic fertilizers or proprietary blends on the market.

I have never personally grown in super soils or true living organics but I am learning about them now got a really good book by the Rev highly recommend it called True Living Organics for anyone interested its a must read and packed with all the information you need to grow that way.

Im looking forwards to learning more about all natural cultivation for myself as Im always interested in learning new things and trying out superb recipes for cultivating the best possible meds I can.

I dont care what nutrients I use if they work they work. AN works and so do almost every other ones can I say its the best NO! But its very good shit.

If you wanna push your plants and get serious results than dump the FF Ocean Forest, and go to soilless mix. Either Promix, Sunshine or Roots Organics B2. I like Sunshine Adv #4 and B2 myself, coco/peat blend, and mix your own nutrients.

FFOF has nutrients already in soil and is organic amendments. Hard to know how much of everything your plants uptaking and getting so going into feeding with liquid ferts after the fact usually results in burning or other issues.

FFOF is typical beginner base soil easy to use bcuz all you need to do is water for 3-4 weeks. I call it the beginner special, its good but not the best for maximum yields but is very good tried and true soil mix.

just because it comes in a bottle that says it's organic, does not make it so, it is derived from organic materials, but any real organic soil does not have anything from a bottle in it.

lol
