yeah bud carbon filters work good, some of them give of a bit of an odor of their own but isn't very noticeable after you run it for a while... carbon filters = safety... but I just stopped giving a shit about whether or not people know I have X amount of plants in here or there because screw it, what can they do?

I find my carbon filter 100% effective in my grow space.....the key is getting the right size and fan to match your growing area. I personally have a Phat Filter and mixed-flow fan. Odorsocks have a pretty bad rep with many finding them ineffective.

I made a carbon scrubber for my grow room. It's about the size of a small closet, and with just a cpu fan, some activated carbon, and an cardboard box, I eliminated I'd say 80-90% of the smell.

Carbon Filters/scrubbers work great in my opinion.

I find carbon filters to work very well. I use one in my room and if its switched off for a few hours the weed smell starts to become noticeable from outside of the room. Im not even sure what size or brand mine is but it does its job very well. I recommend them.

Carbon Filters are a must have item. You never know when a cop or neighborhood narc might be at your front door for the most innocent reason. When you open that door an immediate blast is created hitting them w/ the fragrance we all love. A filter will eliminate that issue.

It's my understanding that Active and Can carbon filters are manufactured by the same people. I had a Can last time and an Active this time w/ no smell at all.

You do have to replace every year or so. The carbon fills w/ h2o from air rendering ineffective. Good Luck.

Carbon is definitely the way to go. All odor is removed 100% in 1/20 of a second. Odor sok is cheap but best for low intensity and intake filters. Phat filter is now Phresh filter bc of 10 y o trademark. can works good but Phresh beas crap out of it. Lighter, smaller, costs the same or less, and lasts twice as long. No brainer but its funny.

Make sure the filter matches the fan you will use. The neck size and cfm usually match up pretty good. Get a fan that is 150-200 cfm for every 1000 watts you are using. More if you are in really hot area.

A carbon filter is a must-have item, for sure. I wouldn't even grow without one. I've had a couple of different ones, and I've been really happy with them, they eliminate all the smell.
