How does this look? Is this over kill for a 4x4?

I would say, yes. It is overkill. Plants can have too much light, I don't know exactly when that would happen in terms of watts per sq foot.
Usually with high quality LED you want 30-50 watts per sq foot with LED. You are around 60-65 if I did my math right.
Not super far over, probably not enough to cause damage, but I'd probably take out 1 of the spiders personally.

I haven't actually tested what I'm drawing out of the wall just yet I'm still in the building phase. But I think more like 800-850w. Spiderfarmers will on Blu be used late in grow though when side lighting is needed.
Should I raise them higher? I thought about that when I was installing them.
I'm not sure how much exactly it'll do but on my last grow the lower branches (I'd say last 2-3ft) of my plant grew a ton of little buds and I spent a lot of time plucking them off late in flower causing excess stress. Some were decently sized but received absolutely zero light under the canopy. I wanted to try to see if I can get those to be decent buds for oils, butter, or hash.
The spiderfarmers aren't going to be used during veg.

Depending on your grow style its possible they're better down there, I think they're to good for sidelights and I'd expect them to be more productive up above, more so if you plan to lst/screen/top etc.

Waaay back in the day I used 6 fish tank single 2 ft t8 lights with UV spaced around my 1000 watt hps grow as side lighting. It worked well, but really the lower buds are just going to be pretty much crap no matter what. You’re not going to have large dense nugs springing out from the sides or underneath. You would do better to put them above the plants, train your plants a little better, and/or add CO2(!) to get the results you’re probably looking for.

I have to agree that the supplemental lighting should be more towards the top of the plants, overlapping with the other lights helping to deepen the spectrum and intensifying the overhead lights. I find that low side lighting seems to grow insignificant little off-shoots in the center of the plant and larfy buds towards the bottom. I like to concentrate everything towards the top. In that setup you have there in the video, mounting them 1/3 of the way down the wall, rather than down the bottom will create a great canopy, the top half of the plants will be surrounded by light.

Id have them on 45 degree angles above canopy but on sides like that, a bit higher imo. So toplight and sidelighting all work in unison. Just my opinion everyone has one. So its like dome of light. Could just strip larf like everyone else.
