my baby is now 12 days old (morning time for her)
i changed the lights around & dropped my temps to 84F..
my temps were at 90F+ which is why i changed it up..

anyway, she's doing fine..
she didn't realize i transplanted her..
so, she's just growing everyday :)

Mine are starting to spread their first 5-leaf sets, so im gettin pretty excited :)
^ yeah, i was excited because i got my 7 fingered leaves :D
the way mine grew was, from cotes to 1 finger to 3 fingers to 5 fingers to 7..
i hope i don't get 9 fingered leaves.. i think they look ugly.. haha
7 looks PERFECT to me.. & the 5 looks pretty nice..

lookin good bro, good luck with your grow:weed:

Yeah man they are looking real nice! I'm gonna be jealous if mine doesn't turn out like yours. Haha. Hope it turns out to be a female.

^ thanks man, i hope she turns out female also..

anyway, here's an update though..
she's on day thirteen now (morning time for her)
she's growing her second leaves on those side shoots..
i can't wait to clone her.. i think in about another week..
but, i'll wait two.. just so they get stronger & healthier..

i'm guessing she's really happy..
those leaves are like.. cupping & curling up..
it kind of scares me a little bit.. haha

Looking strong! I still wouldn't think of trying to take any cuttings for a good 3-4 weeks (min), wait to have a nice established plant. Then you'll be able to clone for sex from a relatively mature plant. That pot will house that plant for quite a while now. I wouldn't get too enthusiastic with the watering for the time being, it should take quite a while for a plant that size to suck that pot dry!
Awesome seedling, what are the plans for flower?

^ thanks for dropping by freddie :D
& yeah, i thought about the cloning..
my plant has grown pretty quick..
that's why i said another week or two..
but, it's alright.. i'm not in any rush..

my soil gets dry super fast, from the plant along with temps..
but, i just don't want the roots coming out the drainage holes again..
i had this seedling in a 9" diameter pot that was 4-5" deep..
in about a week, the roots were coming out of the drainage holes..
when i took the plant out of the pot, it looked a tad bit root bound..
because some roots were growing upwards rather than down..
so i think the 3-4 days watering period is fine.. not sure though..

anyway, for flowering..
i made out a flowering box/room..
it's in my closet & i plan on taking one clone..
then flowering the clone & keeping this seedling as a mother..
then clone another after i get done with the first clone..
so i have an established on going bud system..
hopefully it works though..

It won't really hurt anything if the roots start coming out of the drain holes, they'll air-prune themselves, or you can cut them off if they really bother you. Pruning the roots is much like pruning off the top of the plants, essentially the roots will get bushy.

When cloning time comes, be sure to take more than one to make sure that at least one will root for you. I hope it's a girl!

oh? really?
i never knew that..
you will have to reply/PM me on how to cut/trim roots..
i never would have thought of that after my last transplant..
i nearly transplanted the top half of the soil/roots..
leaving the bottom half still in the pot.. this was with my first grow..
now i can transplant easily.. but my plant almost died from that root loss..

& i will take more than one cutting..
i saw it on mr. green.. lol
how he took 4 flowered 1..
but, i hope she is a girl also..
my last plant was a male.. :(

Looks real good Rasta! I have 4 in soil about 3weeks old they are on 6th leaf set and mine went from 1 leaf to 3, except 1 plant had an odd 4th leaf off center of the 3 leaf stem, Ill try and get a pic of it. But after 3 they went to 5/6 to 7leafs. I heard that the happier the plant is the more leafs you'll get up to 11, so Ive heard. Looks really good though.

^ hey rolla :D
i just dropped by your thread two in a half hours ago..

here's my update though..
took some more pictures & those side shoots are getting it..
i think i should get more lighting on them..
but for now i rotate the pot every other day..
so that should be good enough for now..

anyway, my plant is now two weeks exact (morning time for her)
she's growing more during her sleep time though..
i notice once lights come on, she's gotten bushier/bigger..
& her new leaves from top & side shoots get bigger also.. lol
i'm not complaining though :)

If you want to prune the roots dangling out of your pot you just need to get a pair of scissors, scalpel, sharp blade etc. Make sure it is sterile, get some rubbing alcohol from Wal-Mart or any pharmacy, the stronger the better, and scrub your cutting tool of choice. Cut 'em back off flush with the pot and you're done.
As far as transplants, the tried and true method is: (make sure to use a pot that narrows towards the bottom) Lightly squeeze your way around the outside of the base of the pot to break everything free; Rest one hand over as much of the soil surface as possible, with the stem between your fingers; flip the whole thing over and the pot should be able to slide right off. Heres a couple quick pics.

^ YEAH MAN!!!

that's how i did it & my soil came out just like that..
also, my roots were the same as yours in that picture..
except along the sides, the roots were growing towards the top..

thanks for the photos man :D
& for the tip on the pruning roots technique..
i'm anxiously waiting to clone though..
i keep staring at those side shoots..
they have gotten way bigger..
but, i'm just waiting for the cloning time..
i want to FLOWER.. lol

it will be my first clone ever though..
so, i hope that takeroot stuff works..
i saw a lot of site & youtube people using that..
i just need to choose a method from one of them.. lol

thanks to the others :D
i appreciate you guys stopping by..

& lmao @ YOUNG WEEDY with the humping smiley..
