How Do You Know When?

My room mate has grown some plants - they are about 4' tall - they are a very green type of weed - they now have little berry like pods all over - it kinda looks like a Xmas tree - I assume these are flower buds - a few are starting to open -are these the buds? - should he pull the plants? or let them open?.... the buds are yellow - and white - but - mostly green...a little brown and red at the top....they have been in for about 18 weeks total

4 feet is usually way way to big to grow a plant indoors... there are a few exceptions..

Damn, I wanted to break it to him. lol.

I read it earlier and couldnt post. Im sure it was from the change over but almost everything seems to be working now.

Back on topic. What you described is the male flower. Once the pods open they release pollen. I hope they are not all like that. What you want to see is little water drop looking buds with 2 white hairs coming out of each tiny bud. We usually kill all male plants so we dont get seeds in our bud.

What these guys have failed to tell you is that you have a plant that is ready to harvest! The fact is that your plant is a male, and prolly close to being as potent as he will get, so the general rule is to harvest the males when they show sex, which is now. If all plants are males, harvest them and see what you come up with. If it's too nasty to smoke, maybe it can be used in cooking.

Say guys, sorry, but I wasn't joking. It sounds to me like the guy has only male plants. If that's the case, then why not harvest? WTF do you sensimillia-snobs have against males? Haven't YOU ever smoked a male plant? Ever had regular seeded pot? That's both males and females, left to go to seed. You know, like in nature! :-)

I'm with you on this one pot'. Which aint much I know, with me being a first-time grower! But, if it's got thc it's gotta be worth seeing what you get. Maybe turn it into hash.

I've smoked some right shit in my time, I've also bought the stuff knowing it's shit purely because I couldn't get anything else.

I've also set up a seperate mini-grow room for my males. It's going to be a bit of a tight squeeze for them but you never know my luck one of them might turn out to be a lady-boy.

Ever heard of cheese pot'? Apparently it's a skunk no1-afghan hybrid. It's well loved in this country for its potency.

because of the sensitivity, cost and potential law breaking invloved with growing.. I always recommend seedlesss, high yield techniques...

SeedLESS weed = $300-$500 an OZ.
WITh SEEDS = $30-$50 an OZ

Yeah potraost.. back in he day.. I dabbled in weed with seeds and stems.. LBs that were so compressed that 2LBs fit in a shoe box...LOL

The first time I saw chronic I thought it was BUNK weed cause I was only accustom to seeing shwag.. I thought I had been ripped offf.. LOL .. i was dissapointed that there were not any seeds... LOL

Yeah, some dried male pot will be fine for hash-making or cooking. And if that's all you have, it will do just fine. I can make some cookies with male pot cannabutter that will have these seedless-only-snobs gurgling like newborns.:lol:

I've never heard of cheese pot, apparently it's a local English moniker. But Skunk #1 is 25 percent Afghani #1, and if you cross it with Afghani again, you have an indica/sativa backcross. Dutch Passion did that and named it Mazar.

Which reminds me of a funny story about when I went to pick up some ecstacy a number of years ago. My mate had a thousand of these pills and he seemed a bit flustered. Passing me one of the pills he asked me if I noticed anything strange. After a cursory glance i admitted that I couldn't see anything wrong.
"I went to pick these up," he said, "the geezer said they were doves." I waited a short while before realising that he expected me to comment.
"And?" was all I could manage. He took another pill out and handed it to me.
"Look." he said, slightly exasperated. "They look more like pigeons to me."

Here's my story - I plucked the males and low-behold - there's a couple of small females below...so...they look ready...I've been cutting the buds and every couple of days they grow back - I wait and clip the buds again...they grow back...I have learned a valuable lesson - thanx everybody...

I just might get something out of this anyhow.....

I'll still smoke male leaves when I have nothing else....

PR, I havent ever tried to do anything with males. I had a hermi on my first crop and swore I would kill all males on site from then on. lol.
I thought you were joking cause it just sounded funny to harvest a male. Whats to harvest? lol. But yeah you can make some probably low grade hash out of a few.

I only harvest the finest males!

Hey Man, I haven't done anything with a male plant since the 70's. But if that's all that you come up with then it's better than nothing.
