How do you get a trim like this?

I know this purple trufflez strain is dense but this is some rock hard tight trimmed stuff.

How can you get home grown to look like this?

The above pic is perfect for the home grower. There are plenty of trichs on those sugar leafs.... now, as a commercial grower, it needs to look like the OP's pic. But for home consumption the above is perfect. Alls you're going to do is trim it up to look like something from High Times and lose alot of good material, and time in the process.

A lot of it has to do with genetics too though. Some phenos just product those rock hard nugs that have great bag appeal.. but for the home grower, just trim off all the bullshit, and cure it. Who cares what it looks like. As long as you produced something you're proud of, and it smokes well, and delivers what you expect, who gives a fuck?

I've seen those, and have something similar.... need to try it out.
I was sceptical, it does a nice job and quickly, anyone using scissors should try it out. Maybe the right basting brush trimmed for firmness could work, anyone I hear of trying both, say the canna brush works a lot better. I never did try a pasty type brush myself. Either way, less damage to the bud over scissors.

I would think the brush damages more than scissors.
