Thanks for moving it for me grow tech, I saw some bamboo ones on the net but we don't have a lot of bamboo in Canada, at least I don't know of any sources I can buy it from wher its not made of plastic.

how would you prevent the wood from burning along side the bud... My first pipe was made of wood, didn't have it long enough to figure out what kind of wood before my mom threw it away and grounded me for having it ;)

I'm just getting so excited about maybe making something myself that looks all natural and well kind of is. Ill probably buy a metal slide to go into a peice extending form it like where the slide would rest would be wooden as well but the sidle would probly have to be metal so that it wont tamper with the taste and smothhnes.

i once crafted one when i was a freshman in high school wood shop class.... off course i had all the tools that i needed but for the inside of the tube i used a drill press for shape i used a sawzall and sanded it down to shape but right when i was finishing i cracked it with the drill press because i wouldnt settle for leaving anything in the bubble

I've seen it done. The best way to do it is make sure you use a hardwood. Secondly, you need a (Table drill?) IDK what it's called, but basically how the drill works is you put the wood in a clamp, and you use a FAT drillbit (the kind with little wings)

It's not a hand drill, what you do is turn the drill on, then it has a wheel where you turn it to lower the drill into the wood. (If anyone has ANY idea what kind of drilli t is please clear that up)

Then, once you have the hole in the wood you sand it down into a cylinder (Don't sand before you drill) I may have to come back to this thread once I sober up to clear up what I'm saying.

Maybe next time I'll read the whole thread before I post. :(
