How do people get rock hard buds?

I think light is the biggest factor like you mentioned. Feeding just right and keeping the environment on point are all factors. But I usually dont expect good results with my burple its just a side thing I do just because I have it. It never makes dense buds no matter the effort I managed to get big buds but never dense. But when even a budget light that is Mars produce much better buds burples are just not the way to go lol
You got that right. Blurple is gonna make airier buds than full spectrum LED. I'm not a Mars fan, but they use similar diodes as HLG. Just not as good of ones. And I buy American when I can.

Waiting until they're mature is definitely a big factor too.

But the LED's seem to make them extra hard, and I think this is the biggest reason for my buds being denser.

In my opinion it is the distance the light is from the top of the plant. If the light is too far away the bud tends to stretch towards the light as it grows. If the light is a good distance the bud just grows more compact. Good luck
This.
Light, light, light. And of course, genetics.
There are no nutrients that make buds dense. Wives tale. Actually, it’s a marketing tale.
Spend your money on lights and know how to use them.
Nothing in a bottle or a bag will make your nugs any harder.

Hydro = more dense
If your light is more than 1200 on the buds it will cause to be less dense (week 5-6 - end of flower)

This G8LED im using is producing AMAZING results. I have the biggest budlets and the nicest stacking I've had to date. From this light. HUGE difference running this style led vs blurples.

In all seriousness, Why would you want rock hard buds? Yes a solid density is good but hard as a rock, only shit like that ive seen is from using pgrs and its trash weed. If you cant even squeeze the bud a bit most likely pgr garbage. Also the more density the more prone to bud rot, my old stardawg cut was crazy dense but the budrot was brutal because of it. Genetics, training and everything you do during the flower cycle contributes to density, quality, size etc.

Stop giving the West Coast a bad name. I was born in Seattle and you're making me look bad representing the West Coast, lol.

when do you harvest? After your first ambers or %15-20 amber state or something like that
I harvest when ALL the white pistils have gone brown and receded into the buds.

Trichomes are alright to use to guage but not until what I had mentioned above has happened.

Many people wait for 75% of pistils to turn and then start looking at trichomes. I just dont agree with the internet on this one at all.

I have yet to see proper ripeness in trichomes before all the pistils have turned and curled.
