Hello all,

My apartment has a 3 hole socket that has 50amps 250v inscribed on it and it is connected to my oven. And that socket is connected to a 40amp breaker. considering I dont cook much, Can I convert this 250v outlet into multiple 120v outlets?

Also I have about 600 watts on a 15 amp breaker and about 800 on a 20 amp breaker. How many more watts can I add to each and be safe?

I believe you multiply volts times amps to get wattage.
If I had a 220/250/ outlet available, I might consider getting 240 volt 200 watt(actual!) CFL's from Europe for around $18/20 each. I see them on ebay all the time.
PM me if any ?'s Good luck & good grow.......BB

Watts and amps are very different, Watch your amps and you will be OK. I don't think you can convert your 220 to 110v. I do know you can run some ballasts on 220 though. Good luck

If your not popping any circuit breakers your probably OK the way you are.....JR
