How do I turn off my ballast?

I ordered a light system and I dont' know how to turn it off. I didn't order a timer with it and I dont' know how to go about turning it off, its a dimmable digital ballast that doesn't have an off switch so what do I do? I'm guessing unplug it but where do I unplug it, from the power socket of the cord that leads to the light socket?

well unless ur setup is different, the cord goes from the hood to the ballast and the other goes from the ballast to the wall/socket, so until u get a cheap timer that can take the watts or change the ceiling light into a 2 or 4 way outlet and replace the light switch with a real timer, heavy duty digital timer made for lots of watts, than u gotta plug it in....plug it in, good luck, look up 1000bulbs.com

well kind of light did you get and what kind of deal?
and yeah just plug it in, make sure your using a surge protector, and get a good timer, i roll an apollo 9 rated for 1800w i think, it says specifically on it not to plug in two 1000w lights, ha means it was made for this
