How Do I Move Plants in Freezing Weather

It may be necessary to move about 30 plants that are in third week of flowering from one location to another; unfortunately the temps outside are between 0 and 30 degrees F (-15 to 0 C). How is the best way to approach this?

rent a small uhaul trailer put a tent heater in it

tuffy. how big is the largest plant? estimate in feet.
cuz all i can tell u ryte now is borrow or rent a van, or uhaul. keep it running. get it out to the van carefully no mater the temp, cuz u dont want upside down, uprooted plants. if completely necesary. big boxes too, to make it look like something legal....

Largest is less than 2 feet, in soil. I'm mostly concerned about the shock of going from 75 F grow room through the 20-30 F outside temp (no attached garage or such); also must put in box or such for stealth purposes of course.

My main concern is whether the cold shock from indoors to van/truck would be too much considering how cold it is (even if movement takes less than 30 seconds). Will the growth be effected? Should the plants be wrapped in plastic before being put in boxes? Anything else important to save the ladies?

i know any other plant dies after a frost just if your transport is warm van or whatever i think youll be ok

Thanks craw. So you're thinking that as long as there's no frost, there should be no worries? So a minute or two in below freezing temps shouldn't effect the end output?

i would seriously doubt it so long as the water in the plant isnt given time to freeze you will be ok you have to cover them anyways you dont want your neighbors seeing you carry strange vegetation in your spot as now that i think about it i moved plants before when i went on vacation i brought them to my cousins house on the day i was comming home he brought them back and i wasnt home so he put them under my porch they spent about 10 hours in the dark it was like 40 f outside they were fine

Cool. Hopefully I don't have to move em (not even my crop); buddy disappeared for past two days & his landlord been calling for last month's rent and this month's rent & saying she's going to change the locks if he don't pay, so I'm debating whether to throw a rescue & try to save his grow room before the landlord goes in. (But at the same time, don't know if he'd be cool with this because he could come home and wonder what happened to all his stuff!) Dilemma!

oh dood growing in an apt is a risk all on its own i assume the landlord will shit bricks hopefully your buddy will take care of his shit but if you bail him out tell him your keeping half of his shit...lol

He's in a house, but I don't know the whole situation. He was supposed to get ahold of me two days ago, but he's vanished. I've been checking jail rosters to see if he's in somewhere (he did say he had a warrant), but can't seem to find him.

Oh yeah, you can bet if I rescue him and put myself on the line, I will be compensated for my energies. But I don't want to move stuff in freezing temps if I don't have to because I don't want to be responsible for ruining someone else's crop (even if I'm doing it to save his butt).

I just moved a Uhaul full of flowering plants in the snow. The buds that were against the uhaul metal wall got slight frost damage. The rest of the buds are fine.

just leave him a note saying u have some stuff. dont mention illegal shit in the note. heated uhaul, or rental van. id def do it though. CAAAAREFULLY.

Appreciate the quick and useful advice. Dude showed up and cooled things with the landlord (owed $2600 rent). Glad I didn't have to move anything and take responsibility for something not mine. Looks like all is good now. Much appreciation all!

Smart guy. Its one thing to skip rent, but don't do it when you're growing dope.

I was just going to say that they would be fine during a quick transport. They aren't going to freeze instantly, it is a living plant. At worst you were looking at a few days of shock.
