How Do i know when its time for flowering

I have my plants at 24/0 right now b/c they havent popped thru the soil yet
when should i begin vegging?


vegging is 12/12 right?


and when it comes time for flowering should i change to 14/10 or 10/14 ?

18/6 or 24/0 for veggy 12/12 for flower you can flower(12/12)whenevr you want. But you should wait until your plant is around a foot tall, or you can do differently if you have a different situration(rubbermaid...scrog..lst. etc..) GL

keep in mind, the size will triple during flowering so, depending on your grow area size, anywhere from 12 inches to 12 feet... up to you..

well u dont veg 12/12 u veg 18/6 or i just kept my light on on 24/7 .12/12 is for flower. and soon as u see green that is veging. if u need any help with anything just give me a post good look

24 is for veg...I did 18/6 because of the 24hr. straight was a problem here...then you get pre-flower and sex........12/12 for flowering & 12 dark MEANS DARK..0, nada,zip,zilch....no light......no peeking...I've heard that a green light only, works to check up on the plants, maybe someone could elaborate on that point............
remember no peeking..

I read once you end up with a few more percent (2-3) of final weight, but you are trading a bunch of electricity and wear on your equipment.

I don't think it is worth it, but some growers swear by it, saying they see a real increase. You might have to go with what seems right to you. I think people are pretty divided on which lighting scheme is best.

ha i could care less im just doing this for me first time to learn

right now i have 3 cfl 13w on my just peeked out seedings and some that are still hiding under soil. im also using one cfl 16w light. do u think that is enough? my walls are covered in tin foil? was i wrong to use tinfoil? i dont have mylar laying around

you need alot more Cfls than those, get at least the 23w daylight for vegging. If your only doing one plant, 3 or four should be enough as a start, then youll need alot more for flowering, orange/red spectrum ones or if you have the money get yourself an hps light.

Tin foil isn't recommended, but if you still decide to use it, make sure that the dull side of the tin foil is the one thats facing the plants so it doesn't create much of hot spots which can burn the plants.. Good luck on your grow

Just a thing or two...I don't put my seedlings under any *lights* until the little rounded leaves have opened. I've had problems with them dying when I did....
Some may, I don't..I just put the seedlings into direct sunlight till they sort of seek the sun, then cfl them and keep the light about 1/2 " away from the leaf, so you don't create a bunch of Sir Stretch a lots.... Dump the tin foil, go to office supply, hardware or any place that sells any sort of plastic sheets...The office supply may only have the 8 1/2 x 11 letterhead size but thats fine........If you can't find mylar, just paint a FLAT white...
As for your watts. If you can use a 46w (=150w ) overhead and 26w (=100w)....the more the merrier. I started mine with 2x26w. Now my big 1 is at
day 33 and is 13' tall and female, with lots of pre-flowers, the others are 26 days and already have the smaller leaves coming from the nodes..I wish I'd have at least used a 46w'er, for better growth..but this is my 1st time using cfl's as I usually just sunbath them, so next time,,,,MORE POWER...

vegging should be either 24/0 or 18/6. I prefer 24/0 but everyone here prefers different.

when youre ready to begin flowering then you switch it to 12/12
