how do i grow what i just topped?

I just topped and want to know can i put the piece i cut off directly in soil or put the tip of it in water to produce root then plant it cause it works for regular house plants.

If you cut a growing tip, then yes.

As long as it has leafs on it, just take a knife or razor, clip the end at an angle for more open surface area, and go to town.
Maybe mist it for the first week or so, to help until it starts growing some roots.

Ok cool it is a growing tip cut at angle i put it directly in the soil and gave it a pinch of water and will be misting from now on to keep the soil moist.

I use my toppings as clones all the time. It takes a little longer for them to get established, but it will work.

I cut my stem at an angle under water (as recommended by another thread), then use rooting gel & stick it in a rapid rooter. You can go right into soil, but I like the contact the rooting plug makes with the stem.

Consider using a humidity dome (old water bottle top?). I keep the soil moist, but try not to mist the leaves. I want it to develop roots & get its water this way! Spray the inside of your humidity dome.

Cool thank for the info i heard about the rooting gel and stuff but have no funds for that. But i remembered my mom with regular house plants would take clipping and put in soil so she dont have to buy them.

I've done this a number of times. Your best bet is to put the cutting in a glass of water with a dissolved aspirin tablet.
(Aspirin is made from willow trees, same as most cloning gels). Best not to use a clear glass as light hurts roots so use
a dark coffee cup and put it in the window sill to get as much daily sun as possible. Or in a veg room. It will take about
3 weeks before you see a tangle of white roots coming from the cuttings' stems. TP into a small pot with potting soil and
water the girl every day. She is used to water 24/7 so you have to keep her wet until she is really up and growing.

Most clones started in water tend to end up slow and scrawny. I usually only bother to atempt one of these topping gigs for
something special I'm trying to rescue. Most of the time it isn't worth the extra effort, but that's up to you, eh?
