With Scrogging.... you place the screen about ten inches above your pot. Secure it in place. Then, as your plant stretches during flower... it'll push through the screen to get at the light. To control the hieght and get as much light to budsites as you can... just keep pulling the branches back through and let them run along under the screen... after you plant starts to react to the screen it's pretty obvious what to do.

I only have 8" from pot to lights. I need to get screen in there soon, should I put it right above the plants or put it lower and force the leaf sets throught it?

you just need enough room to be able to get your hands in there.. 8 inches will work.. but it'll get tight when the plant spreads out... just give it a go and you'll see what you need to change for next time.

8 inches will work with a screen you mean? Or you're saying I don't need a screen?

Yes, but do you not recall that plants prefer death metal?

4 "Screen of Green" you need a screen. The screen can be closer than 10 inches if you really don't have the room. But the screen is what keep the height of the plant controlled and give you something to train it to. Have you not seen a picture of a Scrog set up yet?

The FAQ has a really good explanation. It's up in the top right hand corner of this webpage.

Okay, so judging from my pictures, should I put the screen right above my plants, or do I need to feed them through the screen. I think there has already been to much growth for the screen to work properly.

Put the screen right above your plants... they will grow through on their own... when they get 2-3 inches above the screen, pull them under and wait for them to do it again..... seriously, just try it and you'll figure it out as you go!

Peace

It's okay to do that to the plant? Every time I touch it I'm worried about breaking it. So they will grow back through the screen without me touching it?

Yup. You may have to help it a bit at times. It's no big deal though. This method is probably gonna crack some stems your first time. Most of mine were topped then Scrogged so they all split apart. I just reinforced them by tying them to the screen. They grow and produce anyway. Let your plants tell you what they want intsead of just us trying to hear what your plants want. They will teach you how to grow them. (sound flakey?.. get a couple harvests in and you'll see how much your plants actually teach you) Don't be timid.. just be gentle.
