How do figure out size of electrical service for 40 light grow room?

We are GREEN LEAF RELIEF, a non-profit organization devoted to opening up one of the first medical marijuana dispensaries in Arizona when it becomes legal after the Nov 2 vote.
In designing a facility that will have four grow rooms, two veg rooms, two flower rooms, each with ten 1,000w lights. A total of 40 1,000w lights. The two flower rooms will be on flip-flop system so there will only be a maximum of 30 lights on at one time. The system will be CGE using two 10hp chillers, one cooling each two room groups. The lights cooled by hydro innovations "ice boxes" The rooms will have the usual, Co2 burners,humidifier/dehumidifiers/fans etc. Because of the chillers we'll have 3 phase electrical system installed. But how do I figure out how many amps the system will need?

Are you in possession of a growers certificate yet? My understanding is the competition will be fierce and only so many given out. You need to consult an electrician.

Send me an email, I'll build you an awesome loadcenter and flip that will have several features/options. I've built several 3-phase panels for exactly what you're doing. A few of them had three digital green lcd ammeters for total amps draw per phase.

I think I have seen some of your stuff before Olyver, you have quite the rep, and buld some of the most kickass shit I have ever seen.. 3 phase would be badass. Why do you need 3 plase for the chillers? I would probably run everything at 240, make it a lot simpler, the other thing, is you def dont want to hook onto 480,,,,,
