Depends on what strain your growing,Some strains tolerate cold better like Purple power. but I don't let my babies get below 67 F in there dark cycle.
You can go lower but you can also stunt your plants growth to.

purple kicks in when its tooo cold(i.e. below 40-50F strain dependent) OR there are severe temperature fluctuations that cause the the discoloration...like going from 80F to 40F and the plant freaks out :D

im having this issue now, my upstairs gets ZERO heat w/o a space heater that i dont have at the moment. My plant has gone through a few 30 degree nights here lately and there isnt much of an issue if any.

A seedling even wasent bothered by those temps and grew right threw them like it was no problem at all.

i think the main problem when temps drop is not on upper plant its more issues in the root zone if your growing in a cold area like basements etc try to raise pots off the concrete floor with useing foam or any other material what is important is maintaing decent temps in your root zone
i personally like colder climates in my grows when lights are on they still get the lumens and temps always will increase you here so many people mention fluctuating temps this is is the problem why plants stress from fluctuating temps to fast
We are here trying to mimic mother earth as we head into fall sunlight goes less , temps drop this starting the flowering process i personally like dropping my temps really low last 2 weeks of flowering with excellent results
when in veg state i think best temps are between 63 to 78 degrees throughout all grow till last 2 weeks where i slowly drop them to this just like outdoor most growers wait till second frost to harvest

i just took the advice from folks here and covered up the pot. i put my winter hat over the pot then i put a blanket around it as well. i also elevated it off the floor with a few books.

It only went thru a few nites of that, it has been getting cold here still like that but the days have been mid 60's keeping the inside of my house warmer at nite. plus the lights in the grow room have probly heated the space into the mid 70s and it keeps overnite.

Way back when i used to grow in a shed, the night temps in the winter got down to 6 Celsius a few times...I put in a small heater to keep it above 12C once they started showing signs of stress. After that, they grew great. One of the plants had a bit of purple going on towards the end of flowering...

oh, I know 12 degrees Celsius is still too cold for cannabis to grow to it's full potential, but it was expensive to heat the damn place...insulation sucked...
