how close to harvest?

Another week or so. Get a microscope and check the trichomes. If it's mostly cloudy or 10-20% amber you should harvest now. What did you grow that with? IE. How many watts

The weed i got the seed out of was some descent stuff. I veg it under the 3 23w cfls then i add the 4-48" 35watt 3000k tubes and one little 15 watt 24"

Yep. I'm hooked now. There is definitely a certain satisfaction from watching it grow. I looking for some suggestion on seeds the do good indoors.

I looked at them with a magnifying glass they looked white not clear but no amber coloration.
That's cloudy. The more amber, the more couch lock high you get. A lot of people shoot for 20% amber at harvest for a nice all around buzz. If you want pure couch lock you go for 50%, I don't think it's good to go over that as the thc, cbd and cbn degrade naturally over time.

You should improve on your grow setup if funds/space allow. Get a big 400w or 600w HID, tent, air cooled hood, carbon filter, fan. Would set you back about 6-700 bucks but I love my setup.

i cant do the lights yet but i will be building a grow box so i can use my tubes horizontally for the next grow. Thanks for all the feed back guys. I love this forum:clap:

You could stick with CFL lights as they are much cheaper to run and cooler too - looks like you done ok with CFL - see if you can buy some bigger bulbs with red and blue spectrum from ebay or amazon - also cheaper than HID to buy - you don't need a carbon filter unless it stinks and your worried about it.

I have the following running off 1 plug socket.
4 x 30w (2 blue 2 red) + 1 x 200w CFL = 320w (dual spectrum)
1 x 70w fan
2 x 70w small space dehumidifiers = 140w
1 x 60w heat tube (for night time)
1 x 20w LED light on seedlings
1 x 20w Heat mat

Total = 630w
Plus an occasional 110w fan when it gets moody in there.

Nice looking plant! You're running more watts than me. I'm at

400w 55,000 lumen hps = 456w actual
65w inline fan
2w air pump
.5w fan

= 523.5 watts

Why would you not need a carbon filter? What budding cannabis plant doesn't smell?

Doh!
What does the .5w fan do? I think you need a 110w to replace it - then you'll be using more than me.
Hang on.......
1 x 60w heat tube (for night time only when it's cold)
And these are in my seedling/veg cabinet
1 x 20w LED light on seedlings
1 x 20w Heat mat

kiss-ass lol

I use ona block in my little grow area.

There's pro & cons with all lighting including pure sunlight (if it's always cloudy) At the end of the day, if on average you can cultivate a couple of ounces a month for personal use - well done and good luck to ya! If your going commercial HID may be the best option?

I'm happy using CFL and I'd be happy with HID - I aint got a lot of room in my main area tho' 3" x 2" x 4" Height - my veg area is a kitchen cabinet.

I'm going autoflowering from now on as I'll probably get about the same yield for the area and they are done twice as fast.

Good luck to you all however you grow em ;)

lol, I MAY have mixed up the watts of the fan and the air pump. I'm not really sure which is which. It's just a small little green fan I bought from walgreens. Blows on the leaves. Here's a quick pic of it. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy CFL grows and am probably going to replace the MH I veg with, with a 100-200w cfl bulb.

BTW, this is a flowering pic with an HPS bulb, I worked a little photoshop magic and removed the yellowing. Gotta love having a DSLR. My setp is also rather small. The tent is 36"x20"x60"

Nice clean set up you have there - I have just aquired some 2inch chicken wire that I'm going to use on my next grow - a question for you - if you cut the wire out of the frame would the plant support the mesh on it's own? I ask as I do like to move my plants around as the 200w I use is side light and I like to get em out in the sun if it ever comes out. One of the benefits of growing in muck in a bucket :)
