How close should I keep the light on my girls

They are just babies , There 3days old under a 400w HPS......... " Autos "

Right now I got them 24 inches from the light ....

My babies are three daze old also and I keep the light bout 3-4 inches away but Im usin a T5 also. That would be overkill for ur's.

That's probably a good distance away. They can only absorb so much light so they don't need to be super close. You also need to make sure they don't get too hot and dry out.

I've started seeds under 1000w bulbs without issue before so I'm sure 400 is no problem either.

so how far should i keep my light? I got a air cooled system and temps looking good.

sounds good for now, i'd consider maybe lowering it to 18 inches if possible, dont want them to stretch too bad towards the light, i like to do a few days under cfls before putting under my hps, you can keep the lights closer and reduce stretching to an extent. When they get bigger get them as close as you possibley can, my plants sit about 6-10 inches from the light and are doing great. Just watch for heat, is your light cooltubed? it really helps, w/o it my light puts out way to much heat to get the plants close enough where i like them.
