How close should I get my Blockbuster a/c hood to the canopy?

I put up my Blockbuster air cooled hood and have found that I can get the top of the canopy to actually touch the glass of the Blockbuster without the temperature getting above 25 degrees celsius. So, temperature is not an issue. Given this, and the fact that the glass filters out some light, what is the ideal distance to have between the glass of the hood and the top of the canopy? The plants ate young and have just been topped, so they're only about three or four inches tall. Because I've been using a 600W MH, the intermodal distance is a lot shorter than it would've been otherwise - this is the reason they're so squat (not because they're seedlings!).

I'm going to bump this again in the hope that someone will be able to answer. I was going to leave it but there are a fair number of views so I can't be the only one who would like to see an aswer!

I would put it at about 12-16 inches to let the new arms stretch a little bit, and when they get established drop it to about 8-10 inches.

I have a couple blockbusters running 600watt bulbs, I keep them about 6-8 inches from the canopy. The light is about 4 inches from the glass, so all in all the bulb is about 10-12 inches from the canopy.

woah old thread, didn't even notice till after I posted. I'm sure he figured it out by now. lol
