If I can have my roots in a nute solution 24/7 in a Hydroponic system(bubble bucket)... how the hell can I over water in coco?
What's your ph? Ph drift can be a bitch!I've seen plants suffocate from lack of oxygen... the whole plant starts getting very light in color. These girls are just getting some yellow tops... however I'm going to cut back on the watering for sure!
Great great post thanks!Actually they don't change color from lack of O2. They look like this: http://www.growweedeasy.com/overwatering
Good luck
What he said you cant over water in coco, the best way to use coco is with fabric pots and no mix 100% coco. Can't overwater a hempy coco pot, just sayin.
I used to run coco in hempy hybrids. Dirt on top, maybe inch or two coco in the middle and perlite or rocks on bottom. Accommodates all three root types. What he said you cant over water in coco, the best way to use coco is with fabric pots and no mix 100% coco.
Coco coir is a soil-less growing medium which gives the experience of growing in soil, you simply water your plants with nutrient water. Coco coir can be treated basically the same as soil for growing cannabis and is effective at holding onto moisture and nutrients for roots, but it also has a lighter texture that lets it hold onto more oxygen, this helps prevent over and under-watering. Growing in coco tends to promote healthy and fast root development compared to other potting mixes.
Nice i have never tried anything other than perlite on my first run and really didn't like it so dropped it and done 100% coco and never had a problem now for around 1 year, i love coco because its so forgiving and also reusable for so long if cleaned right!I used to run coco in hempy hybrids. Worked well.
Oh, yeah; make sure to rinse the shit out of your coco in case there's salts trapped in.
What did they look like as they were dying... what were the symptomsI recently killed 6/8 of my young plants in coco with 25% perlite by overwatering. I got cocky and just watered all 8 plants even though only 2 really felt light. I hadn't killed a plant due to overwatering before and I've been growing for 5+ years now. So I can confirm that you absolutely can overwater in coco.
